Customized nano-biocatalysts of laccase have been made using nano-structured polyaniline viz. nano-fibers and nano-tubes, as immobilization supports and a simultaneous comparison between them has been made. Laccases are poly-phenol oxidases having tremendous utility concerning wider areas of application especially in the field of organic and drug syntheses.

For the first time, a TiCT-MXene and poly (3, 4-ethylenedioxythiophene): poly (styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT: PSS) composite-modified electrode has been developed for electrochemical detection of the bilirubin (BR) by molecularly imprinted ortho-phenylenediamine (o-PD). BR is a biomarker for liver-related diseases. High levels of BR imply liver dysfunction; hence, its exact and rapid measurement is indispensable to its immediate diagnosis and treatment.

Carbon-based light addressable potential aptasensor based on the synergy of C-MXene@rGO and OPD@NGQDs for low-density lipoprotein detection.

Mikrochim Acta

December 2024

School of Life and Environmental Sciences, School of Intellectual Property, Guilin University of Electronic Technology, Guilin, Guangxi, 541004, People's Republic of China.

A novel carbon-based light-addressable potentiometric aptasensor (C-LAPS) was constructed for detection low-density lipoprotein (LDL) in serum. Carboxylated TiC MXene @reduced graphene oxide (C-MXene@rGO) was used as interface and o-phenylenediamine functionalized nitrogen-doped graphene quantum dots (OPD@NGQDs) as the photoelectric conversion element. The photosensitive layers composed of OPD@NGQDs/C-MXene@rGO exhibit superior photoelectric conversion efficiency and excellent biocompatibility, which contribute to an improved response signal.

Glutathione (GSH) is a key biomarker closely associated with cancer, and its content varies greatly between normal cells and cancer cells. However, intracellular detection of GSH was challenging because existing probes not only have a long detection time but also have fluorescence in the blue-green region that overlaps with the biological matrix's spontaneous fluorescence, thus affecting the detection accuracy. Therefore, a new red fluorescent nano-probe was needed to rapidly and accurately detected GSH within the biological matrix.

β-MnO nanozyme/Ni mediated formation of TriOPD-Ni polymers for specific and background-free detection of carbaryl.

Biosens Bioelectron

March 2025

College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Central South University, Changsha, 410083, Hunan, China. Electronic address:

A novel photothermal sensing platform for direct, specific, and background-free detection of carbaryl has been fabricated. Firstly, β-MnO with excellent oxidase-like property has been screened out from MnO with different crystalline structures. Interestingly, Ni as a chelator with nitrogen atom can modulate the MnO catalytic oxidation and assembly of o-phenylenediamine (OPD) to photothermal probe, OPD trimer (triOPD)-Ni polymers, with an excellent photothermal conversion efficiency of 42.
