Spatiotemporal dynamic and regional differences of public attention to vaccination: An empirical study in China.

Background: Internet searches offer an indicator of public attention and possible demand for certain things. Studying the spatiotemporal characteristics of the public's concern for vaccination can determine the spatiotemporal distribution of demand for vaccines in China, and capture the changes in the health awareness of the Chinese population, thus informing future vaccination strategies.
Methods: Based on the collection of Baidu search indices for vaccination-related keywords in 363 cities in China, This paper seeks to explore the spatiotemporal changes and regional differences in public attention toward vaccination in China by using the seasonal index, seasonal concentration index, Herfindahl index, Moran index, and Dagum Gini coefficient.

This article examines the complicated terrain of immunization acceptance and access among Indigenous peoples in northern Ontario by drawing on conversations held prior to 2019 that explored knowledge about Haemophilus influenzae type a (Hia) infection specifically and attitudes toward vaccines more broadly. In the decade preceding COVID-19, Hia emerged as a leading cause of morbidity and mortality in Indigenous communities in northern Canada. Before developing new vaccines, it is imperative to hold conversations with the communities most affected and to learn more about Indigenous peoples' perceptions of and knowledge about vaccines, both generally and Hia specifically.

The 13th International Veterinary Immunology Symposium (IVIS) was initially due to take place in August 2022, but as many things in our lives, the COVID-19 pandemic that hit the world two years prior, forced the organising committee to postpone the meeting until November 2023. As it is tradition, the veterinary immunology symposium was organised as a satellite meeting of the IUIS International Congress of Immunology, which in 2023 took place in Cape Town, and it is where veterinary immunologists from all over the world get together to discuss advances and challenges in the field of animal health. The 2023 International Veterinary Immunology Symposium (IVIS) was held from November 17th to 21st at Kruger National Park, Skukuza, South Africa.

A love of science and animals, perseverance, and happenstance propelled my career in veterinary virology and immunology. I have focused on deadly enteric and respiratory viral infections in neonatal livestock and humans with an aim to understand their prevalence, pathogenesis, interspecies transmission, and immunity and develop vaccines. Research on animal coronaviruses (CoVs), including their broad interspecies transmission, provided a foundation to understand emerging zoonotic fatal human respiratory CoVs [severe acute respiratory syndrome, Middle East respiratory syndrome, severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2)] and reverse zoonosis of SARS-CoV-2 to animals.
