The PWWP domain is a conserved motif unique to eukaryotes, playing a critical role in various cellular processes. Proteins containing the PWWP domain are typically found in chromatin, where they bind to DNA and histones in nucleosomes, facilitating chromatin-associated functions. Among these proteins, PWWP-domain containing proteins 2A and 2B (PWWP2A and PWWP2B), identified during the H2A interactome analysis, are DNA methyltransferase-related proteins, that are structurally disordered, except for their PWWP domain.

Background: It is known that genomic instability contributes to cancer development. Mitotically associated long non-coding RNA (MANCR) has been reported to promote genomic stability, suggesting its involvement in cancers. Therefore, this study was conducted to investigate the role of MANCR in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).

In many plants, the asymmetric division of the zygote sets up the apical-basal body axis. In the cress , the zygote coexpresses regulators of the apical and basal embryo lineages, the transcription factors WOX2 and WRKY2/WOX8, respectively. WRKY2/WOX8 activity promotes nuclear migration, cellular polarity, and mitotic asymmetry of the zygote, which are hallmarks of axis formation in many plant species.

Canine oral melanoma (OM) exhibits poor prognosis and limited treatment options. The success of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) in human melanoma has driven interest in similar therapeutic approaches in the dog, although the immunosuppressive mechanisms adopted by canine OM remain unclear. This study aimed to evaluate the expression of the immune checkpoints PD-1/PD-L1 and CTLA-4 by RNAscope in situ hybridization (ISH) in canine OM, to investigate their expression pattern and explore their potential role in melanoma progression.

Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is considered as a "metabolic disease" due to various perturbations in metabolic pathways that could drive cancer development. Glycine decarboxylase (GLDC) is a mitochondrial enzyme that takes part in the oxidation of glycine to support nucleotide biosynthesis via transfer of one-carbon units. Herein, we aimed to investigate the potential role of GLDC in RCC development.
