Laboratory and field studies indicated that a cell-culture fowlpox vaccine was effective and safe when administered subcutaneously to day-old broiler chicks in combination with cell-associated Marek's vaccine without compromising the latter. Pox vaccines of chick embryo origin evaluated similarly provided excellent protection, although they caused local musculature swelling when injected into muscle rather than under the skin. No muscle swelling followed improper vaccination with the cell-culture fowlpox vaccine.

Marek's Disease (MD), caused by Marek's disease virus (MDV), is a highly contagious lymphoproliferative disease in poultry. Despite the fact that MD has been effectively controlled by vaccines, the virulence of field isolates of MDV has continued to evolve, becoming more virulent under the immune pressure of vaccines. Our previous research has confirmed that the recombinant rMDV strain with REV-LTR insertion can be used as a live attenuated vaccine candidate.

The interest for in ovo feeding has grown in the last decades mainly concerning probiotics, live microorganisms that can actively interact with the embryo. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of a multi-strain probiotic diluted in Marek's disease vaccine (MDV) on zootechnical performances, intestinal morphology and spp. infection.

One of the commonly used methods to control on-farm outbreaks in the poultry industry is vaccination. Vaccine diluents may affect vaccine efficacy but there are limited studies on how different diluents affect the colonization of live, attenuated vaccines. In this study, buffered peptone water, Marek's diluent and water were used as the diluents to reconstitute the commercially available Typhimurium vaccine (Vaxsafe® ST).

: Androgen receptor (AR) expression and signaling are critical for the progression of prostate cancer and have been the therapeutic focus of prostate cancer for over 50 years. While a variety of agents have been developed to target this axis, many of these fail due to the emergent expression of AR RNA splice variants, such as AR-V7, that can signal independently of ligand binding. Other therapies, such as vaccination against prostate-specific antigens, have achieved FDA approvals but have fallen short of being incorporated as standard-of-care therapies for advanced prostate cancer.

Marek's disease virus (MDV) is an extremely widespread avian immunosuppressive virus. In recent years, many reports have shown that there are still cases of MDV infection and immunosuppression after immunization with the vaccine. Consequently, there is a need to develop alternative complementary approaches for strengthening the efficacy of MDV prevention and control measures.
