Results of bacteriological investigations of patients with pyo-inflammatory surgical diseases and complications, environmental tests have been analyzed. The local multilevel monitoring of resistance was used as an instrument of permanent control of changes in the resistance of surgical infection pathogens to antibodies and for a decision on the schemes empiric antibacterial chemotherapy.

Piezoelectric materials are increasingly used in portable smart electronics and Internet of Things sensors. Among them, piezoelectric macro fiber composites (MFCs) have attracted much attention due to their architectural simplicity, scalability, and high-power density. However, most MFCs currently use toxic lead-based piezoelectric materials, hindering their applications for bio-friendly intelligent electronics.

Introduction: Home birth is described as a delivery that takes place at home without the presence of a skilled birth attendant. In 2017, nearly 295,000 mothers died from various pregnancy and childbirth-related problems, accounting for approximately 810 maternal deaths per day. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the spatial distributions of home birth and associated factors in Ethiopia using the Performance Monitoring for Action Survey (PMAS) 2019) to get information that helps to take geographic-based interventions and can assist health planners and policymakers in developing particular measures to reduce home deliveries.

Modeling repeated measurements data using the multilevel Bayesian network: A case of child morbidity.

J Biomed Inform

December 2024

Department of statistics, University of South Africa, c/o Christiaan de Wet Road & Pioneer Avenue, Johannesburg, 1709, Gauteng, South Africa. Electronic address:

Background And Objective: In epidemiological research, studying the long-term dependencies between multiple diseases is important. This study extends the multilevel Bayesian network (MBN) for repeated measures data that can estimate the rate of change in outcomes over time while quantifying the variabilities of these rates across higher-level units through various variance-covariance structures.

Method: The performance and reliability of a model are examined through a simulation study, and its practical application is demonstrated using child morbidity data.

Background: Women's economic empowerment (WEE) is believed to reduce the risk of intimate partner violence (IPV), yet the relationship between WEE and IPV has proven to be highly variable. Little attention has been given to how the normative WEE environment may influence this relationship across different settings. This study tests whether IPV is associated with Vanguard WEE, defined as individual economic participation that deviates from community norms.

Intravascular Sympathetic Stimulation to Facilitate Catheter Ablation of Premature Ventricular Complexes.

JAMA Cardiol

December 2024

Section for Cardiac Electrophysiology, Division of Cardiovascular Medicine, Department of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia.

Importance: Infrequent intraprocedural premature ventricular complexes (PVCs) limit the efficacy of catheter ablation. Intravascular stimulation of sympathetic nerves via vertebral veins (VVs) has been used to activate cardiac sympathetic tone and may promote PVCs.

Objective: To characterize the ability of direct electrical sympathetic stimulation via VVs to induce PVCs at the time of catheter ablation.
