A novel antimonotungstate (AT)-based heterometallic framework {[Er(HO)][Fe(Hpdc)(B-β-SbWO)]}·50HO (, Hpdc = pyridine-2,5-dicarboxylic acid) was obtained through a synergistic strategy of in situ-generated transition-metal-encapsulated polyoxometalate (POM) building units and the substitution reaction. Its structural unit is composed of a tetra-Fe-substituted Krebs-type [Fe(Hpdc)(B-β-SbWO)] subunit and two [Er(HO)] cations. This subunit can be regarded as a product of carboxylic oxygen atoms of Hpdc ligands replacing active water ligands in the [Fe(HO)(B-β-SbWO)] species.

Controllable synthesis of sophisticated aggregations has attracted wide attention from scientists. In this work, homo- and heterometallic {CoCoM} ( = Co/Cd) aggregates with similar skeletons, composed of two [CoM(dpbt)] peripheries and a central [Co(OH)] vertex-fused double-cubane, were constructed from prefabricated {Co} clusters and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction and XPS, ICP-MS, SEM (EDX), and so on. And then, the structure and magnetic differences of them had been further analyzed under dotted with paramagnetic Co ions and/or diamagnetic Cd ions.

Hybrid bimetallic halides with two different optical activities have exhibited excellent optical properties, which demonstrates great potential in the optoelectronic fields. To develop hybrid cuprous-lead bimetallic halides with unique non-centrosymmetric structures, we introduced the chiral cations /-2-CHN (CHN = methylpiperazinium) into inorganic frameworks containing two different heterometallic cuprous and lead cations, respectively, and successfully obtained the novel chiral hybrid bimetallic halides of (/-2-CHN)CuPbI single crystals by the hydrothermal method. Bimetallic anionic [CuPbI] framework structures were constructed from two different [PbI] and two different [CuI] twisted polyhedra, and band gap calculations were demonstrated.

The bistability of multiple physical properties driven by external stimuli in a solid is a desired prerequisite for its application in memory devices with convenient data readout. We present a pathway for thermal bistability detectable in four physical properties: magnetic, light absorption, second-harmonic generation (SHG), and dielectric. We report a novel heterometallic (TBA){[Fe(phIN)][Re(CN)]} ⋅ (phIN) (1) (TBA=tetrabutylammonium cation, phIN=phenyl isonicotinate) cyanido-bridged chain material.
