Coronary microvascular dysfunction (CMD) refers to clinical symptoms caused by structural and functional damage to coronary microcirculation. The timely and precise diagnosis of CMD-related myocardial ischemia is essential for improving patient prognosis. This study describes a method for the multimodal (fluorescence, ultrasonic, and photoacoustic) noninvasive imaging and treatment of CMD based on ischemic myocardium-targeting peptide (IMTP)-guided nanobubbles functionalized with indocyanine green (IMTP/ICG NBs) and characterizes their basic characteristics and in vitro imaging and targeting abilities.

Rationale And Objectives: The purpose of this study was to demonstrate the impact of postoperative adjuvant transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) on the prognosis of patients with macrotrabecular-massive hepatocellular carcinoma (MTM-HCC).

Materials And Methods: This retrospective study used the clinical records of patients with resected MTM-HCC with/without adjuvant TACE at three centers between January 2015 and December 2022. The primary end point was recurrence free survival (RFS).

The pulmonary vasculature plays a pivotal role in the development and progress of chronic lung diseases. Due to limitations of conventional two-dimensional histological methods, the complexity and the detailed anatomy of the lung blood circulation might be overlooked. In this study, we demonstrate the practical use of optical serial block face imaging (SBFI), ex vivo microcomputed tomography (micro-CT), and nondestructive optical tomography for visualization and quantification of the pulmonary circulation's 3D architecture from macro- to micro-structural levels in murine lung samples.

Hair Transplantation on the Baldness Region with Free Latissimus Dorsi Flap for Scalp Reconstruction: A Case Report.

Arch Plast Surg

January 2025

Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Seoul National University Boramae Hospital, Seoul National University College of Medicine, Seoul, Republic of Korea.

Scalp reconstruction, particularly with complex defects and infection risks, often favors microvascular free flaps. However, this method can result in unavoidable alopecia and undesirable aesthetics. This report describes a novel case where hair transplantation via follicular unit extraction (FUE) was applied to a free myocutaneous flap.
