In Ontario, collaborations between Public Health Units (PHUs) and faith-based organizations (FBOs) and other community organizations were implemented to deliver interventions aimed at building trust in vaccines among ethnoracial communities. This research sought to explore the processes of PHU engagement with FBOs, and challenges encountered. A qualitative research study based on in-depth interviews was conducted with 18 of the 34 Ontario PHUs who expressed an interest.

Social-emotional competence (SEC) enables children to build successful relationships and reduces the risk of mental issues. It has been demonstrated that implementing social-emotional learning (SEL) programs helps develop students' SEC and that better results are obtained utilizing gamification. This paper illustrates the impact of the faith-infused, game-based intervention RENEW (REsilience iN Emotional and behavioral Well-being) on primary school students' SEC.

Background: While patient choice and provider competition are predicted to influence provider behaviour for enhancing access and quality of care, evidence on provider perceptions and response to patient choice and provider competition is largely missing in low-resource settings such as Kenya. We examined provider and purchaser perceptions about whether patient choice and provider competition influenced provider behaviour and enhanced access and quality of outpatient care in Kenya.
Methods: We conducted a qualitative study to explore this across two purposefully selected counties.

Public health emergencies, including climate-related and manmade disasters such as active shooter incidents, occur regularly in the United States. A comprehensive approach is needed to ensure that children's mental health needs are adequately addressed following disasters. This article summarizes the latest evidence on how health systems can effectively address children's unique developmental, social, emotional, and behavioral needs in the context of disasters.
