College of Food and Pharmacy, Zhejiang Forestry University, Linan 311300, China.

Published: May 2006

Aim: To study chemical constituents of Mimosa pudica of Hainan province.

Methods: The constituents were separated and purified by column chromatography with macroporous adsorption resin Diaion HP-20, Sephadex LH-20, Toyopearl HW-40, MCI Gel CHP-20, RP-18 and normal phase silica gel. Their structures were identified on the basis of physical and spectral data.

Results: Four compounds were isolated and identified as: 7, 8, 3', 4'-tetrahydroxyl-6-C-[alpha-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1 --> 2)]-beta-D-glucopyranosyl flavone (I); 5, 7, 4'-trihydroxyl-8-C-[alpha-L-rhamnopyranosyl-( --> 2)]-beta-D-glucopyranosyl flavone (II); 5, 7, 3', 4'-tetrahydroxyl-6-C-[alpha-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1 --> 2)]-beta-D-glucopyranosyl flavone (III); catcher (IV).

Conclusion: Compound I is a new compound and componuds II - IV were isolated from this plant for the first time.

Guangdong Yifang Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd, Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of Traditional Chinese Medicine Formula, Guangdong, Foshan, 528244 China.

Introduction: Astragali Complanati, known in Chinese as Shayuanzi, is a common medicinal material in traditional Chinese medicine, mainly used for tonifying the kidney, supporting yang, consolidating essence, reducing urine and other diseases.

Objective: The UPLC fingerprint of Astragali Complanati Semen (ACS) was established, and the Q-markers of ACS were analyzed by network pharmacology.

Method: First, the UPLC fingerprint detection method was established for ACS, and the common peaks were identified by UPLC-MS/MS.

A new ocotillol-type ginsenoside, named pseudoginsenoside F (), was isolated from American ginseng berry, whose structure was elucidated as 6--[-L-2,3-epoxy-rhamnopyranosyl-(1-2)--D-glucopyranosyl]-dammar-20S,24R-epoxy-3, 6,12,25-tetraol. In addition, the known alkaloids -carboline-1-carboxylic acid () and anoectochine () were isolated for the first time from the Araliaceae family. The new compound was evaluated for cytotoxicity against MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cell line.
