Seven female patients hospitalized in the Surgery Ward of Warsaw's Hospital for Children are described. Nonspecific abdominal pains, recurrent urinary tract infections, and voiding disorders (difficulty in voiding commencement) were the primary causes of hospitalization. Urodynamics and cystoscopy with a histopathology section of the urothelium achieved the diagnosis of nonkeratizing squamous cell metaplasia of the urothelium. The topic is not new, although the diagnosis is particularly rare in the pediatric patient. Until now, the existing world literature has described only a few cases of this kind of metaplasia in children. These findings may be helpful in differential diagnosis of urinary bladder disease. It is postulated that nonkeratizing squamous cell metaplasia of the urothelium, in the future, may lead to malignant changes in the urothelium. Therefore, the therapeutic process merits close monitoring.

Nephrogenic adenoma of the urinary bladder is a rare, benign lesion associated with prior inflammation or irritation of the urothelium. Although typically benign, nephrogenic adenoma can present diagnostic challenges due to its potential to mimic malignant tumors of the urinary tract. In this report, we present a case of an elderly woman with a history of recurrent urinary tract infections and bladder stone surgery who developed nephrogenic adenoma.

Transitional cell metaplasia (TCM) resembling benign urothelium is commonly seen around the distal fallopian tube and/or neighboring mesothelial surface; however, its histogenesis remains largely unknown. We observed the emergence of a cytokeratin (CK) 17-positive reserve cell layer in early TCM foci beneath the tubal epithelium, leading us to hypothesize that TCM could be derived from reserve cells. To elucidate the histogenetic process of TCM, we analyzed the histomorphologic features and immunoprofiles for CK17, CK5/6, p63, GATA-3, estrogen receptor (ER), and androgen receptor (AR) in TCM foci arising in the tubal epithelium (31 foci) and pelvic mesothelium (35 foci).

Introduction: According to the literature of recent years, there has been an increased interest in non-oncological diseases of the bladder, between which differential diagnostics have to be carried out in order to determine a plan for the diagnosis and treatment of patients with these nosologies. There are often certain difficulties in the differential diagnosis of some forms of viral cystitis and leukoplakia OBJECTIVE: to determine pathomorphological criteria for the differential diagnosis of leukoplakia and chronic recurrent papillomavirus cystitis.
Materials And Methods: The prospective study included 85 sexually active patients aged 20-45 years, who were divided into two groups depending on the etiological factor.

This review highlights modern aspects of the pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment of bladder leukoplakia. The search was conducted using Medline, PubMed, and EMBASE databases. Data from a literature search indicate that leukoplakia of the bladder (LMP) is one of the controversial diseases of the urinary system, which is characterized by dystrophic and proliferative changes in the urothelium of Lietos triangle.
