The present paper investigates the possibility of replacing the traditional L-type corner joint used in chair construction with a 3D printed connector, manufactured using the Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF) method and black PLA as filament. The connector was designed to assemble the legs with seat rails and stretchers, and it was tested under diagonal tensile and compression loads. Its performance was compared to that of the traditional mortise-and-tenon joint.

This study aimed to develop an algorithm for modelling tooth-tooth or implant-implant support configurations for a given 4-unit fixed partial denture (FPD). : The algorithm was implemented in Rhinoceros/Grasshopper to automatically generate geometries with varying bone loss (0 mm to 3 mm), support type (tooth-tooth and implant-implant support) and bone quality (D1 to D4) for a 4-unit FPD. Afterward, a finite element analysis was carried out with a load applied to the central connector of the FPD.

Tailed bacteriophages with double-stranded DNA genomes (class ) play an important role in the evolution of bacterial pathogenicity, both as carriers of genes encoding virulence factors and as the main means of horizontal transfer of mobile genetic elements (MGEs) in many bacteria, such as . The pathogenicity islands (SaPIs), including SaPI1, are a type of MGEs are that carry a variable complement of genes encoding virulence factors. SaPI1 is mobilized at high frequency by "helper" bacteriophages, such as 80α, leading to packaging of the SaPI1 genome into virions made from structural proteins supplied by the helper.

The selection of an appropriate implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) type and implantation strategy involves a myriad of considerations. While transvenous ICDs are standard, the rise of non-transvenous options like subcutaneous ICDs and extravascular ICDs is notable for their lower complication rates. Historical preferences for dual chamber ICDs have shifted to single-chamber ICDs.

Background: As dissemination and implementation (D&I) research increases, we must continue to expand training capacity and research networks. Documenting, understanding, and enhancing advice networks identifies key connectors and areas where networks are less established. In 2012 Norton et al.
