We show that all domain-wall solutions of gravity coupled to scalar fields for which the world-volume geometry is Minkowski or anti-de Sitter admit Killing spinors, and satisfy corresponding first-order equations involving a superpotential determined by the solution. By analytic continuation, all flat or closed Friedmann-Lemaître-Robertson-Walker cosmologies are shown to satisfy similar first-order equations arising from the existence of "pseudo Killing" spinors.

We consider a numerical framework tailored to identifying optimal parameters in the context of modelling disease propagation. Our focus is on understanding the behaviour of optimisation algorithms for such problems, where the dynamics are described by a system of ordinary differential equations associated with the epidemiological SIRD model. Applying an optimise-then-discretise approach, we examine properties of the solution operator and determine existence of optimal parameters for the problem considered.

Graphene-based supercapacitors have gained significant attention due to their exceptional energy storage capabilities. Despite numerous research efforts trying to improve the performance, the challenge of experimentally elucidating the nanoscale-interface molecular characteristics still needs to be tackled for device optimizations in commercial applications. To address this, we have conducted a series of experiments using substrate-free graphene field-effect transistors (SF-GFETs) and oxide-supported graphene field-effect transistors (OS-GFETs) to elucidate the graphene-electrolyte interfacial arrangement and corresponding capacitance under different surface potential states and ionic concentration environments.

A population model is presented to study the combined effects of ionising radiation and chemical pollutants on wildlife. The model is based on first order, non-linear and logistic differential equations combining mortality, morbidity and reproduction phenomena with life history data and ecological interactions. Acclimation is considered as a possible mechanism to study theoretically this effect at low levels of radiation or chemical concentration.

Diabetes is a growing global health crisis that requires effective therapeutic strategies to optimize treatment outcomes. This study aims to address this challenge by developing and characterizing extended-release polymeric matrix tablets containing metformin hydrochloride (M-HCl), a first-line treatment for type 2 diabetes, and honokiol (HNK), a bioactive compound with potential therapeutic benefits. The objective is to enhance glycemic control and overall therapeutic outcomes through an innovative dual-drug delivery system.

Zinc-imprinted polymer (ZnIP) and non-imprinted polymer (NIP) were synthesized by radical polymerization, and their properties were studied. The novelty of the work lies in the use of humic acids isolated from coals of the Shubarkol deposit (Karaganda, Kazakhstan) as a basis for the imprinted polymer matrix, with methacrylic acid and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate as a functional monomer and a cross-linking agent, respectively. The composition and structure of ZnIP and NIP were characterized using various physicochemical methods.
