Data are submitted to the effect that parameters associated with the cell link of the immune system should allow some judgement about character and degree of time-related immunological abnormalities in children with Perthes disease. In the earliest stages of the illness immunological abnormalities are in large measure related to the presence of foci of chronic bacterial infection as evidenced by a high NBT-test. The above immunological abnormalities aggravate the course of aseptic necrosis of the hip joint or they serve as a trigger mechanism of its development.

Cholesterol metabolism is abnormally active in tumour cells. Metabolic enzymes related to cholesterol metabolism are upregulated in tumours, but their nonmetabolic functions remain unclear. We found that MVK (mevalonate kinase) is upregulated in lung adenocarcinoma tissues vs.

Perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) is a persistent organic pollutant of global concern due to its environmental presence, bioaccumulative potential and toxicological impacts. This review synthesizes current knowledge regarding PFOS exposure, bioaccumulation patterns and adverse health outcomes in human population. Analysis of worldwide biomonitoring data, and epidemiological studies reveals PFOS systemic effects, including immunological dysfunction (decreased vaccine response), developmental toxicity (reduced birth weight), hepatic metabolic disruption, potential carcinogenogenicity, and reproductive abnormalities.

Inflammatory bowel disease is a chronic condition characterized by inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract, resulting from an abnormal immune response to normal stimuli, such as food and intestinal flora. Since the etiology of this disease remains largely unknown, murine models induced by the consumption of dextran-sodium sulfate serve as a pivotal tool for studying colon inflammation. In this study, we employed both acute and chronic colitis mouse models induced by varying durations of dextran-sodium sulfate consumption to investigate the pathological and immunologic characteristics throughout the disease course.

Aging is intricately linked to various diseases including cancers, neurodegenerative disorders, and metabolic irregularities. Copper (Cu) overexposure has been found to be linked to many diseases during aging, particularly neurodegenerative diseases. Meanwhile, as an essential element, Cu has been implicated in key processes associated with aging, raising questions about its role in age-related health issues.

Background: Fibromyalgia (FM) is a disease characterized by chronic widespread pain concomitant with various symptoms such as fatigue and anxiety. Although chronic inflammation has been implicated in the immunological abnormalities of FM, there are few human studies on complement and immunoglobulins. In this study, we investigated the immunological characteristics of FM patients and the association between their clinical symptoms and immunological indices, including complement and immunoglobulins.
