We present a new method for measuring the spectral phase of ultrashort pulses that utilizes spectral shearing interferometry with zero delay. Unlike conventional spectral phase interferometry for direct electric-field reconstruction, which encodes phase as a sensitively calibrated fringe in the spectral domain, two-dimensional spectral shearing interferometry robustly encodes phase along a second dimension. This greatly reduces demands on the spectrometer and allows for complex phase spectra to be measured over extremely large bandwidths, potentially exceeding 1.5 octaves.

Gelatin/κ-carrageenan (Gel/KC) hydrogel has exhibited a significant potential in tissue engineering, however, there is still a need to further enhance its structural properties. This study developed a Gel/KC dual-network hydrogel with superior mechanical properties and structural stability, which was integrated with 3D printing to evaluate its ability to promote wound healing. The hydrogels with seven different Gel and KC ratios were prepared and characterized using rheological testing, thermal analysis, spectral analysis, micromorphology observation, and X-ray diffraction.

Mutual acquisition of phase-stability and controllable phase-transition becomes a predominant criterion of phase-change materials for the practical long-term energy storage but seems contradictory always. Here a strategy combining coordination and hydrogen bonds hierarchically to create a supercooled liquid in a core-shell coordination structure is reported, addressing that demand successfully. This new material is composed of a Mn-methylurea complex (MM) core and the hierarchically bonded erythritols shell.

The fatigue failure of a structure may occur under a multiaxial vibration environment; it is necessary to establish a better multiaxial fatigue life prediction model to predict the fatigue life of the structure. This study proposes a new model (MWYT) by introducing the maximum absolute shear stress into the WYT model. The feasibility of the MWYT model is verified by using the multiaxial fatigue experimental data of 304 stainless steel, Q235B steel, 7075-T651 aluminum alloy and S355J0 steel.

Aftershocks can cause additional damage or even lead to the collapse of structures already weakened by a mainshock. Scarcity of in-situ recorded aftershock accelerograms heightens the need to develop synthetic aftershock ground motions. These synthesized motions are crucial for assessing the cumulative seismic demand on structures subjected to mainshock-aftershock sequences.

The propagation speed of a shear wave, whether externally or internally induced, in biological tissues is directly linked to the tissue's stiffness. The group shear wave speed (SWS) can be estimated using a class of time-of-flight (TOF) methods in the time-domain or phase speed-based methods in the frequency domain. However, these methods suffer from biased estimations or time-consuming computations, and they are especially prone to wave distortions incases.
