Objective: The aim of this work is to demonstrate how the chronicity of low back pain can modify the trophism of the paraspinal muscles, by performing an ultrasound and MRI evaluation of the paraspinal muscles in the lumbar spine and correlating it to the time of onset of low back pain.

Materials And Methods: An ultrasound evaluation was carried out in the lumbar area with a 5-17 MHz linear probe of the paraspinal muscles of the lumbar region, compared with the MRI of the lumbar spine, in patients presented to our attention for chronic low back pain (> 6 months), from January 2021 to January 2023. Background: Atypical teratoid/rhabdoid tumours (ATRTs) are malignant central nervous system tumours, typically presenting in the posterior fossa of very young children. Prognosis remains poor despite current therapy, while tumorigenesis implicates both genomic and epigenetic dysregulation. Primary diffuse leptomeningeal (PDL) ATRT, characterised by the absence of an intraparenchymal mass lesion, is seldom reported but appears associated with a dismal outcome.

Purpose: To evaluate the performance of R2* in distinguishing intrapancreatic accessory spleens (IPASs) from pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (PNETs).

Methods: Two radiologists (R1 and R2) retrospectively reviewed the MRIs of 20 IPAS and 20 PNET patients. IPASs were diagnosed with uptake on 99mTc labeled heat-damaged red blood cell scintigraphy or characteristic findings on CT/MRI and ≥ 12 month-long-stability.

Objective: To assess the efficacy and safety of subcutaneous perispinal infiltration of low dose of triamcinolone and lidocaine indicated for pain control in patients with cervical osteoarthritis (COA).

Methods: Patients with symptomatic COA resistant to conventional treatment including anti-inflammatory drugs, analgesics, and physical therapy were included. Technetium-99 m pyrophosphate (99mTc-PYP) scintigraphy and computerized tomography (CT) fusion scans images were used for diagnosis of COA and as a guide for level(s) of infiltration(s).

While key for pathogen immobilization, neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) often cause severe bystander cell/tissue damage. This was hypothesized to depend on their prolonged presence in the vasculature, leading to cytotoxicity. Imaging of NETs (histones, neutrophil elastase, extracellular DNA) with intravital microscopy in blood vessels of mouse livers in a pathogen-replicative-free environment (endotoxemia) led to detection of NET proteins attached to the endothelium for months despite the early disappearance of extracellular DNA.
