Objective: To study the polymorphism of CYP1A1 gene Msp I site in the Mongolian and Han nationality populations of Inner Mongolia.

Methods: The PCR-restriction fragment length polymorphism(PCR-RFLP) technique was used to analyze the genotypes of CYP1A1 gene Msp I site in 80 subjects of Mongolian nationality and 120 subjects of Han nationality among whom there is no blood relationship each other.

Results: The genotype frequency of CYP1A1 gene Msp I site showed that the wild-type, heterozygote, homozygous variants were 35.0%, 48.7%, 16.3% and 33.3%, 52.5%, 14.2% respectively distributions of Mongolian nationality and Han nationality population, and the Chi-square tests showed that there was no significant difference between the two groups.

Conclusion: The genotype frequency distributions of CYP1A1 gene Msp I site did not exhibit the obvious difference between Mongolian nationality and Han nationality population of Inner Mongolia.

Crude oil naphtha fraction C9 alkylbenzenes consist of trimethylbenzenes, ethyltoluenes, cumene, and n-propylbenzene. The major fraction of C9 alkylbenzenes is ethyltoluenes (ETs) consisting of three isomers: 2-ethyltoluene (2-ET), 3-ethyltoluene (3-ET), and 4-ethyltoluene (4-ET). Occupational and environmental exposure to ETs can occur via inhalation and ingestion and cause several health problems.

The most frequent type of leukemia in Africa is chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). The genetic background of the rarer Philadelphia chromosome (Ph) Ph-ve (BCR-ABL-ve) subform of CML is largely unknown in African patients. Therefore, in this study, we aimed to investigate the role of CYP1A1 and 2D6 SNPs in the pathogenesis of Ph-ve CML in the Sudanese population.

1,3,6,8-Tetrabromocarbazole (1368-BCZ) has been proposed as an emerging environmental contaminant which has aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AhR) activating properties analogous to those of dioxins. Skeletal muscle development is a critical target of dioxin toxicity. However, the impact of 1368-BCZ on muscle development is inadequately understood.

Air pollution significantly contributes to the global burden of respiratory and cardiovascular diseases. While single source/compound studies dominate current research, long-term, multi-pollutant studies are crucial to understanding the health impacts of environmental aerosols. Our study aimed to use the first air-liquid interface (ALI) aerosol exposure system adapted for long-term in vitro exposures for ambient air in vitro exposure.

Objective: Of this study was to analyse the correlation of gene polymorphisms with clinical and laboratory data of paediatric patients with B-lineage acute lymphoblastic leukaemia with prognostically unfavourable features.

Methods: A study of 200 children with B-lineage acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (B-ALL) treated with polychemotherapy programmes was conducted. Analysis by sex revealed a statistically insignificant predominance of the group of boys over girls (54%).
