Background: HCC develops in the context of chronic inflammation; however, the opposing roles the immune system plays in both the development and control of tumors are not fully understood. Mapping immune cell interactions across the distinct tissue regions could provide greater insight into the role individual immune populations have within tumors.
Methods: A 39-parameter imaging mass cytometry panel was optimized with markers targeting immune cells, stromal cells, endothelial cells, hepatocytes, and tumor cells.

Although steatotic liver onset after natural menopause has been reported, evidence on the clinical course and treatment options for steatotic liver after surgical menopause is scarce. A 34-year-old woman with a history of severe obesity presented to our department with liver dysfunction following total hysterectomy and bilateral oophorectomy. Her serum estradiol level was notably low at 22 pg/mL, and a liver biopsy revealed significant fatty degeneration, lobular inflammation, hepatocyte ballooning, and stage F1 fibrosis.

Neuropeptide Y (NPY) is a sympathetic neurotransmitter widely distributed in the peripheral and central nervous system, affecting many physiological functions. Consequently, dysregulation of the NPY system contributes to numerous pathological disorders, including stress, obesity, and cancer. The pleiotropic functions of NPY in humans are mediated by G protein-coupled receptors (Y1R, Y2R, Y5R), which activate several signaling pathways and thereby regulate cell growth, differentiation, apoptosis, proliferation, angiogenesis, and metabolism.

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the possibility of defining new imaging criteria to predict less-invasive clinical (c)-stage IA2-IA3 solid predominant lung adenocarcinoma using the maximum standardized uptake value (SUVmax) as the cutoff value.
Methods: Consecutive 364 patients who underwent anatomical resection with mediastinal lymphadenectomy and positron emission tomography for c-stage IA2-IA3 solid predominant lung adenocarcinoma with a tumor diameter < 3 cm were retrospectively evaluated. Less-invasive cancer was defined as the absence of nodal involvement, lymphovascular or pleural invasion, or spread through air spaces.
Purpose: Accurate identification of radiographic landmarks is fundamental to characterizing glenohumeral relationships before and sequentially after shoulder arthroplasty, but manual annotation of these radiographs is laborious. We report on the use of artificial intelligence, specifically computer vision and deep learning models (DLMs), in determining the accuracy of DLM-identified and surgeon identified (SI) landmarks before and after anatomic shoulder arthroplasty.
Materials & Methods: 240 true anteroposterior radiographs were annotated using 11 standard osseous landmarks to train a deep learning model.
