Molecules of the title compound, C9H8NO+.Cl-.H2O, are linked into two rings by strong hydrogen bonding via the free water molecules and the Cl- anions. The two hydrogen-bonded rings are joined to give a corrugated chain along [001]. Comparisons with other 8-hydroxyquinoline-based salts are also presented, highlighting similar ring structures in a 1:1 salt with Kemp's triacid (r-1,c-3,c-5-trimethylcyclohexane-1,3,5-tricarboxylic acid) and in 8-hydroxy-1-methylquinolinium chloride monohydrate.

Synthetic antibiotics known as sulfonamides suppress the synthesis of tetrahydrofolic acid, which cures respiratory tract infections and protozoal infections by preventing the creation of dihydrofolic acid. Electrochemical sensors based on tetrakis(1,10-phenanthroline)-μ-(4,4'-bipyridine) dicopper(II) chloride monohydrate ([PCu-Bip-CuP]Cl·HO or simply CuPBCl) have been successfully applied for the determination of sulfamethoxazole (SMX) and trimethoprim (TMP) from samples. The experimental conditions and parameters were optimized to achieve the best electrode performances for simultaneous quantification of SMX and TMP.

The present study focuses on the synthesis and structural characterization of a novel dinuclear Cu complex, [tri-chlorido-copper(II)]-μ-chlorido-{bis-[2-hy-droxy-'-(propan-2-yl-idene)benzohydrazide]copper(II)} monohydrate, [CuCl(CHNO)]·HO or [Cu(H )(μ-Cl)CuCl]·HO [H = 2-hy-droxy-'-(propan-2-yl-idene)benzohydrazide]. The complex crystallizes in the monoclinic space group 2/ with one mol-ecule of water, which forms inter-actions with the ligands. The first copper ion is penta-coordinated to two benzohydrazine-derived ligands two nitro-gen and two oxygen atoms, and one bridging chloride, which is also coordinated by the second copper ion alongside three terminal chlorines in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry.

The presence of drugs in aquatic environments has been considered a global challenge and several remediation technologies have been proposed, including adsorption. In this study, new diclofenac adsorbents were obtained from the reaction of sodium magadiite (Na-Mag) with surfactants dodecylpyridinium chloride hydrate (CpyCl) and hexadecylpyridinium chloride monohydrate (CpyCl)), 1-hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide (CBr), and dodecyltrimethylammonium bromide (CBr). The synthesis was carried out in the microwave at 50 °C for 5 min using surfactant amounts of 100% and 200% in relation to the cation exchange capacity of Na-Mag.

A novel biphasic system containing water-soluble deep eutectic solvent (DES) and cyclopentyl methyl ether (CPME) was developed to treat Eucalyptus for furfural production, extracting lignin and enhancing cellulose enzymatic hydrolysis. Herein effect of DES type, water content in DES, temperature and time on furfural yield in water-soluble DES/CPME pretreatment process was firstly evaluated. A maximum furfural yield of 80.

Background: Patients with end-stage renal disease undergoing dialysis suffer from muscle cramps, a prevalent and burdensome symptom for which there is a paucity of efficient and safe treatments.
Aim: What is the efficacy and safety of pharmacological interventions for the treatment of dialysis-related muscle cramps?
Design: A systematic review was conducted in OVID, CINAHL, PubMed, Web of Science, and Central Cochrane databases up to August 25, 2023.
Data Sources: Experimental studies reporting on a pharmacological intervention for the treatment of dialysis-related muscle cramps were included.
