Background: The use of bacterial vaccines as a potential Bacterial-Based Cancer Therapy (BBCT) presents an innovative approach, transforming these vaccines into multifunctional tools capable of serving dual roles in medicine.
Materials And Methods: This study aimed to conduct in vitro, immunity-independent experiments to investigate the anticancer properties of vaccine-derived bacterial toxoids on various cancer cell lines. Six concentrations of the DTP vaccine (5 x 10-4, 25 x 10-5, 125 x 10-6, 625 x 10-7, 312 x 10-7, and 15 x 10-6 µg/ml) were tested on two cancer cell lines (SKG and HCAM) and a normal Rat Embryonic Fibroblast (REF) cell line.

Slippery liquid-infused porous surfaces (SLIPSs) are a class of surface that offers low contact angle hysteresis and low tilt angle for water droplet shedding. This property also endows the surface with pinning-free evaporation, which in turn has been exploited for analyte concentration enrichment for Surface Enhanced Raman Spectroscopic applications and antibiofouling. Herein, we demonstrate a facile approach for creating SLIPS with low contact angle hysteresis and low tilt angle for water shedding by coating the equal-volume mixture of polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) and silicone oil.

Background: is a commensal bacterium and an early biofilm coloniser found in the human oral cavity. One of the biofilm matrix constituents is bacterial extracellular DNA (eDNA). Neutrophils are innate immune cells that respond to biofilms, employing antimicrobial mechanisms such as neutrophil extracellular trap (NET) and reactive oxygen species (ROS) release.

Aim: To investigate the effects of osteopontin (OPN) on cultured human dental pulp cells (hDPCs) in relation to adhesion, proliferation, differentiation, and mineralization.
Methodology: Subcultured hDPCs isolated from healthy human wisdom teeth were inoculated on noncoated (NC, control) and OPN-coated nontissue culture-treated polystyrene plates (Non-TCPS). Cell adhesion and proliferation were analyzed by crystal violet staining and the CCK-8 assay, respectively.

The periodontal ligament (PDL) is a connective tissue, and PDL cells have a potential to differentiate into cementoblasts, osteoblasts, and gingival fibroblasts. This study investigated whether transcription factor c-Myb could induce differentiation of PDL cells for periodontal regeneration. PDL cells were isolated from extracted teeth and cultured.
