Gastric cancer (GC) is a prevalent malignant tumor of the digestive system that is often diagnosed at advanced stages owing to inconspicuous early symptoms and a lack of specific examination methods. Effective treatment of advanced stages remains challenging, emphasizing the need for new therapeutic targets. Metabolic reprogramming, a hallmark of tumors, plays a pivotal role in tumor progression, immune evasion, and immune surveillance.

Potential pathways linking urban green spaces to improved health include relaxation, stress alleviation, and improved immune system functioning. Epigenetic age acceleration (EAA) is a composite biomarker of biological aging based on DNA methylation measurements; it is predictive of morbidity and mortality. This cross-sectional study of 116 adult residents of a metropolitan area in central North Carolina investigated associations between exposure to residential green spaces and EAA using four previously developed epigenetic age formulas.

Fate decisions during immune cell development require temporally precise changes in gene expression. Evidence suggests that the dynamic modulation of these changes is associated with the formation of diverse, membrane-less nucleoprotein assemblies that are termed biomolecular condensates. These condensates are thought to orchestrate fate-determining transcriptional and post-transcriptional processes by locally and transiently concentrating DNA or RNA molecules alongside their regulatory proteins.

A nearly ubiquitous negative relationship between taxonomic richness and mean range-size (average area of taxa) is observed across space. However, the complexity of the mechanism limits its applicability for conservation or range prediction. We explore whether the relationship holds over time, and whether plant speciation, environmental heterogeneity, or plant interactions are major factors of the relationship within northeast Siberia and Alaska.

DNA double strand breaks (DSBs) can be generated spontaneously during DNA replication and are repaired primarily by Homologous Recombination (HR). However, efficient repair requires chromatin remodeling to allow the recombination machinery access to the break. TIP60 is a complex conserved from yeast to humans that is required for histone acetylation and modulation of HR activity at DSBs.
