Cognitive theories of psychopathology propose that specific negative cognitive schema held by individuals can increase their likelihood of experiencing depressive episodes. While it has been argued that such dysfunctional attitudes are state measures that occur primarily during periods of depression, a range of research has supported the view that holding dysfunctional attitudes is ongoing, persisting prior to and following depressive episodes. To date, the need for a parsimonious measure of dysfunctional attitudes has not been well addressed. Using data provided by 4545 participants in a free on-line cognitive behavioural therapy program, MoodGYM, we have developed the Warpy Thoughts Scale (WTS), a 20-item instrument measuring dysfunctional attitudes. This scale provides 3 first order factors (Relationships, Achievements and Entitlements) and a higher order factor, Warpy Thoughts, from which a Warpy Thoughts score can be obtained. Confirmatory factor analyses on this model indicated that it provides robust results for men and women and for individuals in a wide range of ages. WTS scores were moderately correlated with levels of depressive and anxiety symptoms (0.39 and 0.40, respectively) and explained up to one-fifth of the variance of these mental health measures. Further validation of the WTS against other measures of dysfunctional thoughts is required.

Objective: The aim of the study was to assess the prevalence of postmenopausal vasomotor symptoms (VMS) and the impact of VMS and related treatment patterns among perimenopausal and postmenopausal Canadian women.
Methods: A subgroup analysis of data from a cross-sectional online survey of women aged 40-65 years conducted November 4, 2021, through January 17, 2022, evaluated the prevalence of moderate/severe VMS among postmenopausal Canadian women. The analysis also assessed survey responses from perimenopausal and postmenopausal Canadian women with moderate/severe VMS who completed the Menopause-Specific Quality of Life questionnaire, Work Productivity and Activity Impairment questionnaire, and the Patient-Reported Outcomes Measurement Information System Sleep Disturbances-Short Form 8b and answered questions about treatment patterns and attitudes toward treatments.
This study sought to identify classes of intimate partner violence (IPV) among emerging adults reporting both victimization and perpetration, as well as the co-occurrence of multiple forms of violence (i.e., psychological, physical, and sexual) and the association of psychosocial vulnerability factors (i.

With the rapid expansion of mindfulness and its incorporation into the "third wave" of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), there has been evident confusion about what mindfulness is and how it relates to this broader category of interventions. In this article, I define mindfulness and CBT, and differentiate them while highlighting their substantial overlap. Specifically, I discuss the Buddhist Psychological Model and how it relates to the foundational cognitive model, demonstrating the common threads that run across these seemingly disparate philosophies.

As a highly destructive gaming behaviour in Diagnosis-Related Group (DRG), upcoding has garnered increasing scholarly attention. This study considers the prevalence, types and risk characteristics of upcoding during the pilot implementation of DRG payments in China, and it also explores the drivers of upcoding and provides corresponding policy recommendations for improving the system. Quantitative research data were sourced from the DRG payment audit database in City Z between the dates of June 1, 2019 and May 31, 2020, encompassing audit results comprising 200 medical records randomly selected from 28 hospitals.
