Neurovascular complications associated with clavicular shaft fractures can manifest at presentation, develop gradually over time, or potentially be iatrogenically induced. Conducting a thorough neurovascular examination and, when warranted, pursuing further investigation through modalities such as CT angiogram, MRI, and nerve conduction studies (NCS) are crucial for early diagnosis and pre-operative planning. This comprehensive approach enhances patient outcomes by facilitating timely intervention and addressing any underlying neurovascular issues associated with the fracture.

Objectives: Proximal median nerve (PMN) neuropathies are caused by lesions proximal to the carpal tunnel, which include the forearm, elbow, upper arm, and brachial plexus. Differentiating between carpal tunnel syndrome and PMN neuropathies is important to guide management and is based on clinical, electrodiagnostic (EDX), and ultrasound (US) findings. This study describes the clinical, EDX, and US features in 62 patients with PMNs.

Background Pediatric vascular trauma, although rare, poses significant clinical challenges due to the potential for long-term morbidity, including limb compromise and growth abnormalities. This study addresses the gap in standardized treatment protocols by evaluating the efficacy of heparin-based conservative treatments compared to surgical interventions in children under 13 years of age. Methods A retrospective observational study was conducted at a referral center, reviewing institutional records from January 2010 to December 2020.
