Purpose: Osteosarcoma (OS) is the most common malignant tumor associated with poor patient outcomes and a limited availability of therapeutic agents. Scutellarein (SCU) is a monomeric flavone bioactive compound with potent anti-cancer activity. However, the effects and mechanisms of SCU on the growth of OS remain unknown.

AKAP11, a protein kinase A (PKA) adaptor, plays a key role in degrading the PKA-RI complex through selective autophagy. However, the neuronal functions of AKAP11 and the impact of its loss-of-function remains largely uncharacterized.

Many of these viruses replicate and accumulate within the cell nucleus . The nuclear location allows viruses to evade cytoplasmic host viral sensors and promotes viral replication .

Here, function of two STAT5B mutations from human T cell leukemias: one substituting tyrosine 665 with phenylalanine (STAT5B ), the other with histidine (STAT5B ) was interrogated. modeling predicted divergent energetic effects on homodimerization with a range of pathogenicity.

In this study, we identify the Δ -3-ketosteroid 5β-reductase, 3β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase/Δ isomerase, and Δ -3-ketosteroid reductase enzyme families encoded by common human gut bacteria. Through phylogenetic reconstruction and mutagenesis, We show that 5β-reductase and Δ -3-ketosteroid reductase have evolved to specialize in converting diverse 3-keto steroid hormones into their 5β- and Δ -reduced derivatives.
