The use of apical suction devices has been well described for maintaining satisfactory haemodynamics during off-pump surgical coronary revascularization. Its expanded use has been described in a few other situations. We describe here a case of recurrent coarctation where an extra-anatomic ascending to descending thoracic aorta bypass graft was constructed using cardiopulmonary bypass without arresting the heart, and access and exposure were facilitated by the use of an apical suction device.

Article Synopsis
  • This study analyzed the effectiveness of traditional irrigation methods using a specially designed positive pressure side-vented needle and various suction cannulas for treating mandibles with two root canals.
  • Micro-CT scans enabled detailed computational models to be created, allowing for the assessment of flow patterns, velocities, and pressures during irrigation.
  • Results indicated that using suction cannulas significantly enhanced fluid flow and wall shear stress in the complex root structures, especially in areas that conventional methods struggled to reach.

Evaluation of the Efficacy of Various Root Canal Irrigants on Removal of Smear Layer in Primary Teeth: A Comparative Study.

J Pharm Bioallied Sci

July 2023

Department of Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics, College of Dentistry, King Saud University, Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Aim: The aim of the current research was to appraise the effectiveness of different radicular canal irrigant solutions on the elimination of the smear layer in deciduous teeth.

Materials And Methods: A total of 60 fit deciduous teeth that were subjected to extraction for a variety of curative reasons were employed in this research. Every sample tooth was subjected to decoronation at the CEJ employing a carborundum disk.

Aim: The intraventricular pressure difference (IVPD) is the pressure difference in early diastole from the base to the apex of the ventricle. It is a useful marker for evaluating diastolic function because of its role as a suction force. This study investigated the changes in total and segmental IVPDs in normal fetuses throughout gestation to obtain normative data equations.
