Unlabelled: Nevi developed in children are one of the topical issues of pediatric dermatology. The constant change in size and shape often worries parents, and unnecessary removal of the nevi is planned. The development of accompanying scars and sometimes recurring nevi presents a new problem for parents and dermatologists.

Background: The presence of scalp nevi in children frequently causes apprehension, leading physicians and parents to consider unnecessary biopsies or excisions of scalp nevi in children. There are limited data on the dermoscopic characteristics of scalp nevi in Chinese children.
Objective: The aim of this study was to comprehensively analyze the clinical and dermoscopic features of scalp nevi in this specific population of Chinese pediatric patients, with a focus on a single pediatric dermatologic surgery practice.

Background: The scalp is a special anatomical area and dermoscopic findings of this region may significantly differ from other body parts.
Objective: To investigate and compare the clinical and dermoscopic patterns of scalp melanocytic nevi in patients ≤15 years of age and above, and to analyse their relevance to demographic features, atypical mole syndrome (AMS) and total body nevus count (TBNC).
Methods: In this retrospective cohort study, the clinical data and dermoscopic images of patients with scalp melanocytic nevi were retrieved, reviewed and analysed.

Background: Recent research suggests that scalp naevi differ with respect to their epidemiology, patient characteristics and morphological patterns, but currently a classification of scalp naevi is lacking.
Objectives: To investigate the prevalence, together with clinical and dermoscopic features, of scalp naevi detected in persons attending a skin cancer screening programme, and to elaborate a classification of scalp naevi based on their most common morphological patterns.
Methods: Participants were recruited during the melanoma prevention programme 'sun watch' of Austrian Cancer Aid in Styria.
