The spin polarization of current injected from a Permalloy electrode into a mesoscopic Ag wire is measured for samples with very low interface resistance. The observed value of 22.3% +/- 1.6% at 79 K is an order of magnitude larger than values previously reported for low resistance interfaces and about 4 times larger than predictions of the common resistance mismatch model. These results demonstrate that high resistance barriers are not necessary for efficient spin injection.

We have found that surface superstructures made of "monolayer alloys" of Tl and Pb on Si(111), having giant Rashba effect, produce nonreciprocal spin-polarized photocurrent via circular photogalvanic effect (CPGE) by obliquely shining circularly polarized near-infrared (IR) light. CPGE is here caused by the injection of in-plane spin into spin-split surface-state bands, which is observed only on Tl-Pb alloy layers but not on single-element Tl nor Pb layers. In the Tl-Pb monolayer alloys, despite their monatomic thickness, the magnitude of CPGE is comparable to or even larger than the cases of many other spin-split thin-film materials.

This work reports on the preparation process of a double-layer perovskite active layer. The first active layer film, CsKPEAPbIBr, was fabricated using a spin-coating method, while the second active layer, MAPbBr, was deposited using MAPbBr single crystals as the evaporation source. Additionally, doping the PEDOT: PSS hole transport layer with ETA and EDA can enhance the uniformity of the perovskite film and reduce voids, improving charge transport efficiency.

Objective: The inflammatory responses from synovial fibroblasts and macrophages and the mitochondrial dysfunction in chondrocytes lead to oxidative stress, disrupt extracellular matrix (ECM) homeostasis, and accelerate the deterioration process of articular cartilage in osteoarthritis (OA). In recent years, it has been proposed that mesenchymal stromal cells (MSC) transfer their functional mitochondria to damaged cells in response to cellular stress, becoming one of the mechanisms underpinning their therapeutic effects. Therefore, we hypothesize that a novel cell-free treatment for OA could involve direct mitochondria transplantation, restoring both cellular and mitochondrial homeostasis.
