The title compound, [Cu8(C8H24O2Si)2(C3H7NO)8].C4H4N2.C3H7NO, features a sandwich-like cage enclosing a pyrazine molecule, both situated on a centre of inversion. In addition, the crystal structure contains one dimethylformamide molecule which is disordered over a centre of inversion. The copper layer, containing eight atoms, is located between two siloxanolate fragments. The whole structure of Cu atoms and siloxanolate rings is distorted by the pyrazine molecule, leading to an oval form. As a result, the angles between the Cu atoms differ at the copper layer. The difference in the angles could lead to some deviations in the Cu-Cu exchange interactions within the copper ring, which is of interest for molecular magnetism.

A Cu-promoted highly chemoselective dimerization of 5-aminopyrazoles to produce pyrazole-fused pyridazines and pyrazines is reported. The protocol generates switchable products via the direct coupling of C-H/N-H, C-H/C-H and N-H/N-H bonds, with the merits of broad substrate scope and high functional group compatibility. Gram-scale experiments demonstrated the potential applications of this reaction.

Every year, dengue virus affects hundreds of millions of individuals worldwide. To date, there is no specific medication to treat dengue virus infections. Nucleobases, the base of a nucleoside without ribose, are understudied as potential treatments for viral infections.

Cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL) is a rare T-cell malignancy characterized by inflamed and painful rash-like skin lesions that may affect large portions of the body's surface. Patients experience recurrent infections due to a compromised skin barrier and generalized immunodeficiency resulting from a dominant Th2 immune phenotype of CTCL cells. Given the role of the unfolded protein response (UPR) in normal and malignant T-cell development, we investigated the impact of UPR-inducing drugs on the viability, transcriptional networks, and Th2 phenotype of CTCL.

A dynamical rearrangement in the electronic structure of a molecule can be driven by different phenomena, including nuclear motion, electronic coherence or electron correlation. Recording such electronic dynamics and identifying its fate in an aqueous solution has remained a challenge. Here, we reveal the electronic dynamics induced by electronic relaxation through conical intersections in both isolated and solvated pyrazine molecules using X-ray spectroscopy.

Attaining sub-Kelvin temperatures remains technologically challenging and often relies on the scarce resource He, unless employing adiabatic demagnetization refrigeration. Herein, the active coolant typically consists of weakly coupled paramagnetic ions, whose magnetic interaction strengths are comparable in energy to the relevant temperature regime of cooling. Such interactions depend strongly on inter-ion distances, fundamentally hindering the realization of dense coolants for sub-Kelvin refrigeration.
