The effect of the administration of a commercial preparation of human gamma globulins has been evaluated in a mouse model of intranasal infection with BCG. First, we demonstrated the passage of specific antibodies to saliva and lung lavage following the intranasal or intraperitoneal administration to mice of human gamma globulins. This treatment of mice inhibited BCG colonization of the lungs (p < 0.01). A similar inhibitory effect was observed after infection of mice with gamma globulin opsonized BCG organisms (p < 0.01). These results are relevant for the development of new strategies for the control and treatment of tuberculosis.

In the treatment of Alzheimer's disease (AD), traditional 40Hz gamma wave stimulation, while effective in improving cognitive function, has been limited by the lengthy duration of treatment. To address this, our study sought to enhance the time efficiency of 40Hz stimulation by utilizing intermittent theta-burst stimulation (iTBS) as a pretreatment. Experiments were conducted on AD mouse models, divided into four groups: no stimulation, 40Hz stimulation only, iTBS stimulation only, and combined iTBS and 40Hz stimulation.

Background: Electroencephalography (EEG) is a non-intrusive technique that provides comprehensive insights into the electrical activities of the brain's cerebral cortex. The brain signals obtained from EEGs can be used as a neuropsychological biomarker to detect different stages of Alzheimer's disease (AD) through quantitative EEG (qEEG) analysis. This paper investigates the difference in the abnormalities of resting state EEG (rEEG) signals between eyes-open (EOR) and eyes-closed (ECR) in AD by analyzing 19- scalp electrode EEG signals and making a comparison with healthy controls (HC).

To investigate the effects of 12-week extract supplementation on immune responses and inflammatory cytokines after exhaustive endurance exercise (EEE), emphasizing its novel focus on peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) cytokine secretion and the implications of interferon-γ (IFN-γ) as a marker for immune modulation. Twenty healthy men were recruited and assigned into maca and placebo groups using a matched-pair design based on their maximal oxygen consumption (V̇O). All participants consumed 2.

Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is considered as a "metabolic disease" due to various perturbations in metabolic pathways that could drive cancer development. Glycine decarboxylase (GLDC) is a mitochondrial enzyme that takes part in the oxidation of glycine to support nucleotide biosynthesis via transfer of one-carbon units. Herein, we aimed to investigate the potential role of GLDC in RCC development.

FAT atypical cadherin 1 (), which encodes an atypical cadherin-coding protein, has a high mutation rate and is commonly regarded as a tumor suppressor gene in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). Nonetheless, the potential regulatory mechanisms by which FAT1 influences the progression of HNSCC remain unresolved. In this context, we reported that FAT1 was downregulated in tumor tissues/cells compared with normal tissues/cells and that it was correlated with the clinicopathological features and prognosis of HNSCC.
