Evaluation of expression of 16 PE_PGRS genes present in Mycobacterium tuberculosis under various growth conditions demonstrated constitutive expression of 7 genes, variable expression of 7 genes, and no expression of 2 genes. An inverse expression profile for genes PE_PGRS16 and PE_PGRS26 was observed to occur in macrophages and in mice infected with M. tuberculosis. Variable expression of PE_PGRS proteins could have implications for their role in the immunopathogenesis of tuberculosis.

Estrogen receptor (ER) is a direct and reciprocal target gene for GATA3. Previous studies have shown that higher GATA3 expression in primary breast cancer (BC) is associated with a reduced probability of developing lung metastasis when compared to those with metastatic recurrence to other organs. Further, GATA3 downregulates several genes promoting BC lung metastasis and upregulates genes encoding known inhibitors of lung metastasis.

Introduction: This study provides a descriptive overview of the prevalence of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in Canada, across sociodemographic characteristics, mental health-related variables and negative impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Methods: Data were obtained from cycles 1 and 2 of the Survey on COVID-19 and Mental Health (SCMH), collected in fall 2020 (N = 14 689) and spring 2021 (N = 8032). The prevalence of PTSD was measured using the PTSD Checklist for DSM-5 (PCL-5) Cross-sectional associations were quantified using logistic regression, while controlling for sociodemographic characteristics.

The M13 phage carries approximately 5 copies of the pIII protein, each of which is capable of displaying a single-chain variable fragment (scFv) that targets a specific antigen. This feature enables the M13 phage to be widely employed in the construction of scFv libraries, thereby facilitating the identification of antibodies with high specificity and affinity for target antigens.
