Herein, a case of a 66-year-old man who developed corneal blood staining secondary to hyphaema after trabeculectomy is reported. No significant increase in intraocular pressure was recorded. The corneal staining spontaneously cleared from the periphery and resolved fully over the following 2 years.

Alkali burns are common ocular emergencies that can lead to severe vision impairment if not promptly and properly treated. Anderson-Fabry (or Fabry) disease is a rare lysosomal storage disorder caused by a functional deficiency of the enzyme alpha-galactosidase A. The partial or total defect of this lysosomal enzyme, which is caused by variants in the gene, leads to the accumulation of glycosphingolipids, mainly globotriaosylceramide in the lysosomes of different cell types. The clinical presentation of Fabry disease is multisystemic and can vary depending on the specific genetic variants associated with the disease.

Purpose: We aimed to evaluate the effects of autologous serum plus artificial tears on corneal sensation and tear film stability in patients with mild to moderate xerophthalmia after cataract surgery.
Methods: A total of 150 patients with mild to moderate xerophthalmia after one-time cataract surgery from March 2022 to September 2023 were selected and randomly divided into a control group (n = 75) and a study group (n = 75). The control group was treated with artificial tears (polyvinyl alcohol eye drops), while the study group was given autologous serum plus artificial tears.
