Introduction: Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is a heterogeneous endocrinal physiological disorder characterized by chronic oligo-ovulation or an-ovulation, hyperandrogenism, and polycystic morphology in ovaries on transvaginal or abdominal ultrasound. Hyperandrogenism and insulin resistance are already well-documented pathophysiological mechanisms in PCOS. Besides this, autoimmunity has been hypothesized in its pathogenesis.

Type 1 diabetes (T1D) is classically characterized as an autoimmune disease wherein the immune system erroneously attacks insulin-producing pancreatic β-cells, causing insulin insufficiency and severe metabolic dysregulation. However, intensive investigation and numerous clinical trials with immunotherapies have been largely unable to significantly alter the course of disease. Currently, there is no effective way to prevent or cure T1D, and insulin remains the cornerstone of T1D treatment.

Introduction: Type 1 diabetes involves immune-mediated destruction of insulin-producing beta cells, with eosinophils potentially playing a significant role. Recent studies suggest that leukotriene inhibition might influence this process. This case report presents a novel observation of montelukast, a leukotriene receptor antagonist, reducing insulin requirements in a patient with Latent Autoimmune Diabetes in Adults (LADA).

RNA-binding motif 47 (RBM47) is a recently identified RNA-binding protein involved in early vertebrate development, immune homeostasis, and cancer development. This study examined the biological functions of RBM47 in thyroid-associated ophthalmopathy (TAO). Orbital fibroblasts (OFs) were obtained from the control (n = 6) and TAO groups (n = 6).
