Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) have been recognized as essential regulators in various human malignancies. Hundreds of lncRNAs were known to be abnormally expressed in renal cell carcinoma (RCC) through a lncRNA expression microarray, among which lncRNA OSTM1 antisense RNA 1(OSTM1-AS1) was revealed as one of the most abundant lncRNAs. However, the function of OSTM1-AS1 in RCC remains unknown.

Articular cartilage has a limited regenerative capacity, resulting in poor spontaneous healing of damaged tissue. Despite various scientific efforts to enhance cartilage repair, no single method has yielded satisfactory results. With rising drug development costs, drug repositioning has emerged as a viable alternative.

Background: Insulin resistance (IR) is central to the progression of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (MAFLD). While aerobic exercise reduces hepatic fat and enhances insulin sensitivity, the specific mechanisms-particularly those involving exosomal pathways-are not fully elucidated.

Method: Exosomes were isolated from 15 MAFLD patients' plasma following the final session of a 12-week aerobic exercise intervention.

Ginseng-containing Shentao Ruangan granules (STR) have been a well-known Chinese medicine prescription for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in China for decades. This study aimed to establish an experimental framework to decipher the underlying mechanism of STR in the treatment of HCC. Microarray analysis, network pharmacology, RNA-sequencing (RNA-seq), bioinformatics analysis, and and experiments were used as integrated approaches to uncover the effects and mechanisms of action of STR.

Decoding the prognostic landscape of LUAD: the interplay between N-methyladenosine modification and immune microenvironment.

Front Immunol

December 2024

State Key Laboratory of Trauma and Chemical Poisoning, Department of Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine, Daping Hospital, Army Medical University, Chongqing, China.

Background: To determine the role of N-methyladenosine (mA) modification in the tumor immune microenvironment (TIME), as well as their association with lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD).

Methods: Consensus clustering was performed to identify the subgroups with distinct immune or mA modification patterns using profiles from TCGA. A risk score model was constructed using least absolute shrinkage and selection operator regression and validated in two independent cohorts and LUAD tissue microarrays.
