The surgical risk is higher for obese patients undergoing laparoscopic left hemicolectomy. To enhance the surgical safety and efficacy for obese patients, we have innovatively integrated the advantages of various surgical approaches to modify a pancreas-guided C-shaped surgical procedure. The safety and quality were assessed through a retrospective analysis.

In 2018, Portuguese researchers proposed the "Tool for Quality Assessment of Genetic Counseling," a 5-point Likert scale comprising 50 items across five dimensions, designed to assess genetic counseling from the professional's perspective. This descriptive, cross-sectional study aimed to adapt this tool to Brazilian Portuguese, validate it among Brazilian clinical geneticists, and conduct a preliminary assessment of the quality of genetic counseling in Brazil. The adaptation process involved expert-driven content validation and calculation of the Content Validity Index (CVI) to ensure equivalence between the original and adapted versions.

Uremic pruritus (UP) is a debilitating condition frequently associated with chronic kidney disease, severely impairing patients' quality of life and contributing to increased mortality. Recent studies have suggested that intravenous sodium thiosulfate (STS) may offer therapeutic relief for pruritus in patients undergoing hemodialysis. Objective: To study the effect of transversus abdominis plane (TAP) block under direct vision with acupoint injection on the rapid recovery of patients after laparoscopic cholecystectomy.
Methods: Ninety-three patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy at Hangzhou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2023 to December 2023 were selected and divided into control, TAP block under direct vision (TAP-DV), and TAP-DV with acupoint injection (TAP-DVA) groups using a random number table method. Postoperative VAS, Ramsay score, IL-6, CRP, and postoperative rehabilitation indices were compared among the three groups.

Substandard and falsified (SF) medical products are a serious health and economic concern that disproportionately impact low- and middle-income countries and marginalized groups. Public education campaigns are demand-side interventions that may reduce risk of SF exposure, but the effectiveness of such campaigns, and their likelihood of benefitting everybody, is unclear. Nationwide pilot risk communication campaigns, involving multiple media, were deployed in Ghana, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Uganda in 2020-2021.
