Pulmonary accelerated rheumatoid nodules (ARN) represent a rare occurrence within the context of rheumatoid arthritis (RA), with conventional treatment typically involving corticosteroids. In this report, we present a unique case of pulmonary ARN managed with baricitinib, a Janus kinase inhibitor. The patient, a 46-year-old woman diagnosed with RA, initially displayed no evident pulmonary nodules upon pulmonary imaging.

Leflunomide (LEF), a disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drug, has been widely explored for its anti-inflammatory potential in skin disorders such as psoriasis and melanoma. However, its poor stability and skin irritation pose challenges for topical delivery. To surmount these issues, LEF-loaded solid lipid nanoparticles (SLNs) integrated with hydrogels have been developed in the present investigation.

BK polyomavirus nephropathy (BKVN) is a common cause of nephropathy in kidney transplant patients and is typically seen within the first year after transplantation. BK polyomavirus nephropathy can occur in the native kidneys of patients with nonrenal solid-organ transplants (NRSOT). However, this is rare, especially outside the early post-transplant period, and BKVN is not usually considered in the differential diagnosis for acute kidney injury in NRSOT patients.

Background: Rheumatoid pulmonary nodule can be detected in up to 32% of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients and approximately one-third of nodules may cavitate. We aimed to evaluate characteristics of patients with RA developing cavitary pulmonary nodular (CPN) lesions under disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs), follow-up of both cavitary and solid nodules, and their outcome with the treatment.
Methods: RA patients who presented with CPN lesions during follow-up were recruited retrospectively in this case series analysis.

Background: Pediatric data on risk factors and the clinical course of BK DNAemia are limited. We aimed to determine the effects of BK DNAemia on transplant outcomes and delineate the safety and efficacy of various treatment approaches.
Methods: This retrospective-cohort study included 161 transplants (age ≤ 21 years) performed at a single center between 1/1/2012 and 1/1/2020.
