Objective: To establish a HPLC fingerprint analysis method for identification of Bupleurum chinense of Hebei Province and compare the fingerprints of Radix Bupleuri collected from different habitats so as to establish a sensitive and specific method for controlling the quality of Radix Bupleuri.
Methods: The HPLC-UV fingerprints of Radix Bupleuri from different habitats were obtained from Waters 1525 instruments. The HPLC separation was performed on a C18 analytical column gradient eluted with a mixture consisting of acetonitrile and water at a flow rate of 1.0 ml/min with UV detector at 203 nm. The temperature of column was 30 degrees C.
Results: The mutual mode of HPLC-UV fingerprints was set up, and the similar degrees to the crude drugs of different habitats were compared.
Conclusion: It is simple and quick to differ Bupleurum chinense from different habitats with the method that can be used as a quality control item for Radix Bupleuri.

Saikosaponin D is the saikosaponin with the highest biological activity in Bupleurum chinense DC, which has anti-tumor effects on a variety of human tumors. In this study, we aimed to explore the SSD-induced apoptosis mechanism in ESCC cells. We predicted the targets of SSD and ESCC through several databases and analyzed the intersecting targets to identify the connections and possible pathways between proteins.

Macroporous resin is an efficient separation technology that plays a crucial role in the separation and purification of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). However, the application of macroporous resins in TCM pharmaceuticals is hindered by serious fouling caused by the complex materials used in TCM. This study examines the impact of ultrafiltration (UF) membrane technology on the macroporous resin adsorption behavior of TCM extracts.

Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Radix Bupleuri (Bupleurum chinense DC.) is the most commonly used traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) for the treatment of liver diseases. While the effects of Radix Bupleuri (BR) on lipid-lowering and liver protection have been established, its role in the development of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) induced by a high-fat diet remains unclear.
