Background: Intrauterine adhesions (IUAs) are a significant clinical challenge, affecting reproductive health and leading to infertility or recurrent pregnancy loss. Understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying IUA prevention is crucial for developing effective treatment strategies.

Objective: To investigate the interaction between oviductal mucosal cells and endometrial cells and their effects on the expression of key molecules involved in embryo implantation, specifically leukemia inhibitory factor (LIF), avβ3, estrogen receptor (ER), and progesterone receptor (PR).

Bovine embryo production : evolution of culture media and commercial perspectives.

Anim Reprod

September 2024

Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium, Omaha, NE, USA.

Article Synopsis
  • Produced embryos have lower viability than their natural counterparts, leading to concerns about their development and potential.
  • Mammalian embryos can adapt metabolically to different culture media, but this adaptability might compromise their viability and implantation capability despite reaching the blastocyst stage.
  • The review aims to summarize the progress in embryo culture media for bovine embryos, focusing on key achievements and ongoing challenges to improve developmental outcomes.

The anti-angiogenic and anti-vasculogenic mimicry effects of GN25 in endothelial and glioma cells.

Biochim Biophys Acta Mol Cell Res

October 2024

Division of Neurosurgery, Department of Surgery, Kaohsiung Armed Forces General Hospital, Kaohsiung 80284, Taiwan. Electronic address:

Background And Purpose: Scientists have been exploring anti-angiogenic strategies to inhibit angiogenesis and prevent tumor growth. Vasculogenic mimicry (VM) in glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) poses a challenge, complicating anti-angiogenesis therapy. A novel drug, GN25 (3-[{1,4-dihydro-5,8-dimethoxy-1,4-dioxo-2-naphthalenyl}thio]-propanoic acid), can inhibit tumor formation.

We evaluated the expression profiles of differentially expressed miRNAs (DEmiRNAs) involved in human fetal skin development via high-throughput sequencing to explore the expression difference and the regulatory role of miRNA in different stages of fetal skin development. Analysis of expression profiles of miRNAs involved collecting embryo samples via high-throughput sequencing, then bioinformatics analyses were performed to validate DEmiRNAs. A total of 363 miRNAs were differentially expressed during the early and mid-pregnancy of development, and upregulated DEmiRNAs were mainly concentrated in the let-7 family.

Transcriptome analysis of effects of deficiency on cardiometabolic and calcium regulation in cardiac tissue.

Open Med (Wars)

January 2024

Department of Cardiology, Shanghai Children's Hospital, School of Medicine, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Shanghai, 200062, China.

Catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia (CPVT) is a hereditary heart disease characterized by bidirectional or polymorphic ventricular tachycardia and an increased risk of sudden cardiac death. Although trans-2,3-enoyl-CoA reductase like () is a newly reported pathogenic gene leading to CPVT that can influence intracellular calcium regulation, the unidentified mechanism underlying the pathogenesis of TECRL deficiency-mediated CPVT remains mainly elusive. In the present study, knockout (KO) mice were established and the differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were investigated by RNA-sequencing from the heart tissues.
