The complete exact solution of the T = 1 neutron-proton pairing Hamiltonian is presented in the context of the SO(5) Richardson-Gaudin model with nondegenerate single-particle levels and including isospin symmetry-breaking terms. The power of the method is illustrated with a numerical calculation for for 64Ge for a pf + g9/2 model space which is out of reach of modern shell-model codes.

We propose an estimator that allows us to calculate the value of a simple system's partition function using finite sampling. The core idea is to neglect the contribution from high energy microstates, which are difficult to be sampled properly, and then calculate a volume correction term to compensate for this. As a proof of concept, the estimator is applied to calculate the partition function for several model systems, ranging from a simple harmonic oscillator to a Lennard-Jones fluid with hundreds of particles.

Background: Patients with peritoneal carcinomatosis often experience intestinal failure throughout the course of their disease, and total parenteral nutrition (TPN) can be used as a temporary solution or as a bridge to definitive cytoreductive surgery. Guidelines for TPN are well established for inpatients and in 2014, guidelines were established for the initiation of TPN for outpatients in a home setting. However, the safety and efficacy of home start TPN in advanced oncology patients remain unknown.

The Galerkin approach for numerically resolving higher-order Complex Differential Equations (CDEs) in a rectangular domain in the complex plane is presented in this work. Taylor polynomial functions are used in this method as basis or weighted functions. The CDE is converted into a matrix equation by employing the proposed method.

The generalization of BVPs always covers a wide range of equations. Our choice in this research is the generalization of Caputo-type fractional discrete differential equations that include two or more fractional -integrals. We analyze the existence and uniqueness of solutions to the multi-point nonlinear BVPs base on fixed point theory, including fixed point theorem of Banach, Leray-nonlinear Schauder's alternative, and Leray-degree Schauder's theory.

Background: Accurate classification of host phenotypes from microbiome data is crucial for advancing microbiome-based therapies, with machine learning offering effective solutions. However, the complexity of the gut microbiome, data sparsity, compositionality, and population-specificity present significant challenges. Microbiome data transformations can alleviate some of the aforementioned challenges, but their usage in machine learning tasks has largely been unexplored.
