Horses bred nowadays are characterized by high variability of the body build. The variability concerns exterior features and skeleton features. From among the skeleton parts the skull is an element influenced by selection and environmental adaptation. The aim of these investigations was to find whether cranial traits exhibit variability in relation to the body build of horses. To do this, metric parameters of skulls of 43 horses used in the investigations were analysed with various statistical techniques. On the basis of ANOVA, Principal Components Analysis and Canonical Discriminant Analysis it was found that horses of various constitutional types exhibit differences in cranial morphology. Warm blood horses of the respiratory constitutional type have more complex nasal cavity from horses of heavier body build. A meaningful effect on craniometric variability was observed in the length and breadth of the viscerocranium. Also the height of the viscerocranium--a cranial feature of the respiratory tract, showed a high discriminating power.

Aim: This study aimed to develop a web-based machine learning (ML) model to predict the lifetime likelihood of developing varicose veins using global disease prevalence data.
Methods: We utilized data from a systematic review, registered under PROSPERO (CRD42021279513), which included 81 studies on varicose vein prevalence across various geographic regions. The data used to build the ML model included disease prevalence as the outcome (%), along with the following predictors: mean age, gender distribution (%), mean body mass index (BMI) of the study cohort, and the mean gravity field of the study region (mGal), representing variations in Earth's underground mass distribution that influence blood and fluid redistribution in the human body, affecting disease prevalence.

Methods: This qualitative participatory study was conducted in two phases. Researchers iteratively explored the concept of sense of safety using focus groups and semi-structured interviews.

Background: Despite an epidemic of end-stage kidney disease in the Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population, disparities in access to kidney transplantation persist. The journey to a successful kidney transplant is long, with an initial suitability assessment required before waitlist-specific activities begin. In an Aboriginal Community Controlled renal service, we aimed to: (i) design and implement a continuous quality improvement (CQI) approach to transplant suitability assessment, (ii) provide transplant suitability assessments for all patients of the service, (iii) describe what temporary contraindications to kidney transplantation should be the focus of health service improvements, (iv) explore participant experiences with the suitability assessment process, and (v) use our findings to inform pre- and post-transplant model of care development within Kimberley Renal Services.
