This study examines the effectiveness of an evidence-based practice, multisystemic therapy (MST), conducted in a real-world mental health setting with juvenile justice involved youth and their families. Importantly, this is the first randomized clinical trial of MST with juvenile offenders in the United States conducted without direct oversight by the model developers. This study reports outcomes achieved for 93 youth randomly assigned to MST or treatment as usual (TAU) services through 18-month follow-up posttreatment for offense data and 6-month follow-up posttreatment for ratings of the Child and Adolescent Functional Assessment Scale (CAFAS). Outcomes include significant reduction in rearrest and improvement in 4 areas of functioning measured by the CAFAS for youth who received MST. Implications for delivery of empirically supported treatments in real-world settings are discussed.

There is a new awareness of the widespread nature of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) and its connection to cardiovascular disease (CVD). This has catalyzed collaboration between cardiologists, hepatologists, endocrinologists, and the wider multidisciplinary team to address the need for earlier identification of those with MASLD who are at increased risk for CVD. The overlap in the pathophysiologic processes and parallel prevalence of CVD, metabolic syndrome, and MASLD highlight the multisystem consequences of poor cardiovascular-liver-metabolic health.

Neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1), which is also known as von Recklinghausen's disease, is a multisystem genetic disease that is principally associated with cutaneous, neurologic and orthopedic manifestations. The present case report described an unusual case with a giant cutaneous neoplasm on the right breast skin of a 36-year-old female who was admitted to the Department of Breast Surgery at the Affiliated Tumor Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University (Urumqi, China). Skin mass excision was performed and histopathology confirmed the diagnosis of thoracic plexiform neurofibroma as a primary presentation of NF1.

Background: Fabry disease is a rare X-linked multisystem disease, with progressive proteinuric kidney disease contributing significantly to morbidity and mortality of these patients. Evidence shows that sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitors (SGLT2Is) can reduce proteinuria and slow progression to end-stage kidney disease in both diabetic and non-diabetic kidney disease.

Aim: Evaluate the effects of SGLT2I on kidney function and albuminuria in patients with Fabry disease.

Behçet's Disease (BD) is a multisystem inflammatory disorder that can lead to severe vascular complications, including Budd-Chiari Syndrome (BCS), a rare but life-threatening condition characterized by hepatic vein obstruction. The co-occurrence of BD and inherited thrombophilia, such as Factor V Leiden mutation, significantly increases the risk of thrombosis, complicating the clinical management of affected individuals. In this case, a 16-year-old female initially presented with nonspecific symptoms of generalized fatigue and bone pain, which later progressed to abdominal distension and significant hepatosplenomegaly.

Background: Necrotizing fasciitis is a life-threatening soft tissue infection characterized by rapid tissue necrosis, often leading to sepsis and multisystem organ failure. Necrotizing fasciitis can rarely occur as a post-procedural complication, particularly following cardiac catheterization or angiography. This case report presents the clinical presentation and management of a 64-year-old female with a history of chronic endocarditis and valvular involvement who developed necrotizing fasciitis after femoral coronary angiography.
