Modern technology has recently provided us with new resorbable suture material for use also in vascular surgery. Clinical use of these sutures has been impeded however by not little mistrust and by old dogmas without a rational experimental basis. We have therefore begun studies of two slowly resorbable materials, polyglactin 910 and polyglycolic acid, in comparison with two classic nonreabsorbable materials, nylon and polypropylene, used in experimental model of end-to-end anastomosis rats'infrarenal aorta, following up the healing process and its evolution after an interval. The results are discussed in relation to data collected from current literature.

Robotic-assisted surgery has revolutionised modern medicine, enabling greater precision and control, particularly in microsurgical procedures. This systematic review evaluates the current state of robotic-assisted surgery across various specialties, focusing on four major robotic systems: Symani, Da Vinci, ZEUS, and MUSA. The review systematically analyses the effectiveness of these systems in performing vascular, lymphatic, and nervous anastomoses, comparing key metrics such as procedure time, success rates, and learning curves against manual techniques.

Background And Purpose: We report on an intensive two-day training program on microanastomoses performed on perfused human placenta models. A specific scoring system was elaborated to evaluate the participants' microsurgical skills and report the participants' results.
Materials And Methods: Trainees who attended the Zurich Microsurgery Courses in 2023 were included in the study.

Background: Marfan syndrome, a connective tissue disorder, poses unique challenges in neurosurgery, given the fragility of vascular structures. Superior cerebellar artery (SCA) aneurysms in patients with the syndrome are rare and present distinct surgical difficulties, necessitating innovative approaches.
Observations: A 29-year-old male with Marfan syndrome presented with a subarachnoid hemorrhage from a ruptured SCA aneurysm.

Many recent studies show that exoscopes are safe and effective alternatives to operating microscopes (OM). Developments of robotics and automation are present in neurosurgery with the appearance of a newer device such as RoboticScope (RS) exoscope with a digital three-dimensional (3D) image and a head-mounted display. The body of the RS is connected to a six-axis robotic arm that contains two video cameras, and serves as stereovision.

Machine learning (ML) models are being actively used in modern medicine, including neurosurgery. This study aimed to summarize the current applications of ML in the analysis and assessment of neurosurgical skills. We conducted this systematic review in accordance with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines.
