There and Back Again: Mapping and Factorizing Cosmological Observables.

Phys Rev Lett

Cosmological correlators encode invaluable information about the wave function of the primordial Universe. In this Letter we present a duality between correlators and wave function coefficients that is valid to all orders in the loop expansion and manifests itself as a Z_{4} symmetry. To demonstrate the power of the duality, we derive a correlator-to-correlator factorization formula for the parity-odd part of cosmological correlators that relates n-point observables to lower-point ones via a series of diagrammatic cuts.

We combine measurements of galaxy velocities from galaxy surveys with measurements of the Weyl potential from the Dark Energy Survey to test the consistency of general relativity at cosmological scales. Taking the ratio of two model-independent observables-the growth rate of structure and the Weyl potential-we obtain new measurements of the E_{G} statistic with precision of 6.0-11.

Most stars in today's Universe reside within spheroids, which are bulges of spiral galaxies and elliptical galaxies. Their formation is still an unsolved problem. Infrared/submillimetre-bright galaxies at high redshifts have long been suspected to be related to spheroid formation.

We consider the -dimensional Einstein equations with negative cosmological constant coupled to a spherically symmetric, massless scalar field and study perturbations around the anti-de Sitter spacetime. We derive the resonant systems, pick out vanishing secular terms and discuss issues related to small divisors. Most importantly, we rigorously establish (sharp, in most of the cases) asymptotic behaviour for all the interaction coefficients.

The Pandemic, Mining Violence, and the Case of the Sanöma/Yanomami People.

J Med Humanit

November 2024

Department of Anthropology, University of Brasília, Brasília, Distrito Federal, Brazil.

In Brazil, the health emergency unleashed by the Covid-19 pandemic must be understood in the context of the government administration of the former president, Jair Bolsonaro. The new coronavirus was turned into a war machine, something already seen in other moments of the history of indigenous peoples, when epidemics were strategically used to promote indigenous genocide and usurp their territories. The Sanöma, a subgroup of the Yanomami language family, assert that Covid-19 did not leave individualized traces of 'sequelae' but made itself felt in the deaths that could not undergo the traditional funeral rites due to the sanitary measures, generating a cosmological and existential tension for the collective as a whole.
