A presolubilization procedure with the use of glycerol is shown to be applicable for the structural analysis of polysaccharides. Neutral, acidic, high-molecular-weight and low-molecular-weight polysaccharides were solubilized in glycerol prior to methylation and subsequent linkage analysis by GC-MS. All four types of polysaccharides showed significant increases in derivatization following presolubilization as measured by recovery of partially methylated alditol acetates.

The low satisfaction of fans' spectator experience, the weak willingness to continue to watch games have become the realistic barriers limiting the sustained and favorable development of Chinese Basketball Association league (CBA League). Using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) and Fuzzy-set Qualitative Comparative Analysis (fsQCA), this study clarifies the complex causal relationship behind the phenomenon of fans' spectator experience, explore the linkage mechanism between different influencing factors of spectator experience. Also constructs a variety of grouping paths to enhance the fans' spectator experience in the CBA League.

Background: The gray snapper (Lutjanus griseus) is a marine reef fish commonly found in coastal and shelf waters of the tropical and subtropical western Atlantic Ocean. In this work, a draft reference genome was developed to support population genomic studies of gray snapper needed to assist with conservation and fisheries management efforts.
Methods And Results: Hybrid assembly of PacBio and Illumina sequencing reads yielded a 1,003,098,032 bp reference across 2039 scaffolds with N50 and L50 values of 1,691,591 bp and 163 scaffolds, respectively.

Background: The recent European-ancestry based genome-wide association study (GWAS) of Alzheimer disease (AD) by Bellenguez2022 has identified 75 significant genetic loci, but only a few have been functionally mapped to effector gene level. Besides the large-scale RNA expression, protein and metabolite levels are key molecular traits bridging the genetic variants to AD risk, and thus we decided to integrate them into the genetic analysis to pinpoint key proteins and metabolites underlying AD etiology. Few studies have generated more than one layer of post-transcriptional phenotypes, limiting the scale of biological translation of disease modifying treatments.

Background: White matter hyperintensities (WMH) are commonly observed on MRI in Alzheimer's disease (AD), but the molecular pathways underlying their relationships with the ATN biomarkers remain unclear. The aim of this study was to identify genetic variants that may modify the relationship between WMH and the ATN biomarkers.
Method: This genome-wide interaction study (GWIS) included individuals with AD, MCI, and normal cognition from ADNI (n = 1012).

Background: Whilst numerous studies have explored the relationship between Alzheimer's disease (AD) and diabetes, there remains significant conflicting evidence as to their relationship. Some studies suggest an increased likelihood of developing AD in individuals with diabetes, especially type 2 diabetes (T2D) and that both diseases share pathological features. In contrast, other studies indicate that T2D is more aligned with vascular cognitive impairment and dementia and associated cerebrovascular/white matter pathology.
