The efficacy of the two entomopathogenic biocontrol agents, Steinernema feltiae (Filipjev) and Lecanicillium muscarium (Petch), against juvenile Thrips palmi Karny in the laboratory situation is well documented. This study investigated the extrapolation of this knowledge to the control of adult stages. S. feltiae caused significantly higher mortality to juvenile T. palmi than to adult stages, whereas L. muscarium had a more significant impact on adult stages. The potential to develop an IPM strategy to control T. palmi utilising the two entomopathogens is discussed.

Introduction: In the context of ageing at home and in the community, healthcare services for older adult people in China are mainly provided by primary care physicians (PCPs). This study aimed to understand the level of geriatric healthcare service capability of PCPs in China and to give recommendations for improving care.
Methods: We surveyed PCPs in the eastern, central, and western regions of China, using a combination of multi-stage stratified cluster sampling and typical sampling.
Unlabelled: Although tryptophan (Trp) is the largest and most structurally complex amino acid, it is the least abundant in the proteome. Its distinct indole ring and high carbon content enable it to generate various biologically active metabolites such as serotonin, kynurenine (Kyn), and indole-3-pyruvate (I3P). Dysregulation of Trp metabolism has been implicated in diseases ranging from depression to cancer.
