Importance: The Affordable Care Act (ACA) expanded Medicaid and Marketplace insurance to nonelderly adults in 2014, but whether these policies improved outcomes later in life is unknown.
Objective: To examine whether exposure to ACA expansions during middle age (50-64 years) was associated with changes in health, utilization, and spending after these adults entered Medicare at 65 years of age.
Design, Setting, And Participants: This serial analysis of the Health and Retirement Study cohort linked to Medicare enrollment and claims data from January 1, 2010, to December 31, 2018.

In response to population growth, ethical considerations, and the environmental impacts of animal proteins, researchers are intensifying efforts to find alternative protein sources that replicate the functionality and nutritional profile of animal proteins. In this regard, plant-based cheese alternatives are becoming increasingly common in the marketplace, as one of the emerging dairy-free products. However, the dairy industry faces challenges in developing dairy-free products alternatives that meet the demands of customers with specific lifestyles or diets, ensure sustainability, and retain traditional customers.

High-quality draft genomes of six subspecies strains from Cambodian poultry marketplaces were sequenced. The strains were identified as Corvallis-, Monschaui-, and Kentucky-serovars. The fluoroquinolone resistance gene, was found in three strains in different Cambodian provinces.

Importance: Cigarette companies have been introducing synthetic cooling agent menthol-mimicking cigarettes into the US marketplace as menthol cigarette bans are implemented. These cigarettes may reduce the public health benefits of menthol cigarette bans.
Objective: To examine the epidemiology of the use of synthetic cooling agent menthol-mimicking cigarettes among adults in the US.

The current study aims to elicit information regarding the tail risk transmission mechanism between crude oil (CO) and selected clean energy (CE) stock indices across time and during certain economic events. A Time-Varying Parameter Vector Auto-Regressive model (TVP-VAR) paired with the conditional autoregressive value-at-risk (CAViaR) approach was used to investigate data from January 1, 2015 to December 29, 2022. Overall, we show that an increased vulnerability to tail risk and deficits might be linked to dynamic spillover over examined markets.
