Introduction: Circulating tumor cells (CTCs) have attracted significant interest as a biomarker for cancer diagnosis. In this study, we judiciously constructed a recombinant MUC1-dependent adenovirus (rAdF35-MUC1) that can selectively replicate and overexpress copepod super green fluorescent proteins (copGFP) in MUC1-positive tumor cells to investigate its role in the detection of CTCs.
Methods: We conducted a comparative study between rAdF35-MUC1 and the existing hTERT-dependent adenovirus (rAdF35-hTERT).

Background: PARP inhibitors (PARPis) have shown promising effectiveness for ovarian cancer. This network meta-analysis (PROSPERO registration number CRD42024503390) comprehensively evaluated the effectiveness and safety of PARPis in platinum-sensitive recurrent ovarian cancer (PSROC).
Methods: Articles published before January 6, 2024 were obtained from electronic databases.
In late 2023 an H5N1 lineage of high pathogenicity avian influenza virus (HPAIV) began circulating in American dairy cattle Concerningly, high titres of virus were detected in cows' milk, raising the concern that milk could be a route of human infection. Cows' milk is typically pasteurised to render it safe for human consumption, but the effectiveness of pasteurisation on influenza viruses in milk was uncertain. To assess this, here we evaluate heat inactivation in milk for a panel of different influenza viruses.

Many vaccines have been produced during the COVID-19 pandemic. Currently, an increasing number of vaccines have reached an expiration date without being used. Therefore, expired vaccines (EXVAX) based on virus-like particles (VLP) recombinant SARS-CoV2-S protein can be repurposed for biosensing application and provide a use, even though they are past their expiration date for vaccination.

Recent studies have shown that anti-ERp5 antibodies inhibit platelet activation and thrombus formation; Moreover, ERp5-deficient platelets exhibit enhanced platelet reactivity via regulation of endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress. In this study, we used a new ERp5-knockout mouse model as well as recombinant ERp5 (rERp5) protein, to examine the role of ERp5 in platelet function and thrombosis. Although platelet-specific ERp5-deficient mice had decreased platelet count, the mice had shortened tail-bleeding times and enhanced platelet accumulation in FeCl-induced mesenteric artery injury, compared with wild-type mice.
