A novel hypothesis of thyroid carcinogenesis, the "fetal cell carcinogenesis" hypothesis, in which cancer cells are derived from the remnants of three types of fetal thyroid cells, instead of normal thyroid follicular cells, is proposed. In this hypothesis, thyroid cancer cells are generated from fetal cells by proliferation without differentiation and oncogenes play an oncogenic role by preventing fetal cells from differentiating. This hypothesis explains well the clinical and biological features and recent molecular evidence of thyroid carcinoma. It underscores the importance of clarifying the molecular mechanism of thyroid development and the identification of fetal thyroid cells, especially thyroid stem cells (TSCs), since such data will lead to better understanding of thyroid carcinoma and other thyroid diseases.

Background: Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is a highly aggressive subtype of breast cancer, characterized by frequent recurrence, metastasis, and poor survival outcomes despite chemotherapy-based treatments. This study aims to investigate the mechanisms by which Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) modulates the tumor immune microenvironment in TNBC, utilizing CiteSpace and bioinformatics analysis.
Methods: We employed CiteSpace to analyze treatment hotspots and key TCM formulations, followed by bioinformatics analysis to identify the main active components, targets, associated pathways, and their clinical implications in TNBC treatment.

Objective: This retrospective cohort study aimed to investigate the effects of parity on gestational weight gain (GWG) and its association with maternal and neonatal outcomes in women with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM).
Methods: This retrospective cohort study data from 2,909 pregnant women with GDM who delivered between 2021 and 2023 at Fujian Maternity and Child Health hospital, were analyzed. Participants were categorized into nulliparous (no previous births), primiparous (one previous birth), and multiparous (two or more previous births) groups.

Purpose: To investigate static and dynamic brain functional alterations in dysthyroid optic neuropathy (DON) using resting-state functional MRI (rs-fMRI) with the amplitude of low-frequency fluctuation (ALFF) and regional homogeneity (ReHo).
Materials And Methods: Fifty-seven thyroid-associated ophthalmopathy (TAO) patients (23 DON and 34 non-DON) and 27 healthy controls (HCs) underwent rs-fMRI scans. Static and dynamic ALFF (sALFF and dALFF) and ReHo (sReHo and dReHo) values were compared between groups.
Rationale: Individuals homozygous for the Alpha-1 Antitrypsin (AAT) Z allele (Pi*ZZ) exhibit heterogeneity in COPD risk. COPD occurrence in non-smokers with AAT deficiency (AATD) suggests inflammatory processes may contribute to COPD risk independently of smoking. We hypothesized that inflammatory protein biomarkers in non-AATD COPD are associated with moderate-to-severe COPD in AATD individuals, after accounting for clinical factors.

Introduction: Thyroid hormone imbalances are known to significantly affect cardiovascular health, contributing to conditions such as arrhythmias, dyslipidemia, and hypertension. Given the increasing prevalence of thyroid dysfunction and its potential impact on cardiovascular outcomes, early diagnosis and intervention are crucial, particularly within specific regional populations.
Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the impact of thyroid hormone imbalance on cardiovascular health outcomes in patients at Lady Reading Hospital, Peshawar, over a 24-month period.
