Aim: Biliodigestive anastomoses are widely used in the treatment of biliary obstruction.
Methods: A survey is presented of the personal case series treated during the last 5 years. Thirty biliodigestive anastomose have been performed both for neoplastic disease and for benign lesions.
Results: The biliodigestive anastomosis has been performed with the Blumgart's technique both for benign and malignant tumors.
Conclusions: The authors point out that experience is of the utmost importance for the operation success. Major attention is paid to the surgical technique used for the biliodigestive anastomosis and a retrospective analysis is made.

IU Health Physicians Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, Indianapolis, IN, USA.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to assess the long-term clinical complications, outcomes, and return to sport (RTS) rates in patients aged 30 or younger with a primary full-thickness arthroscopic rotator cuff repair (ARCR).
Methods: All patients who underwent a primary full-thickness ARCR at age 30 years or younger from 2003 to 2021 with a minimum of a 2-year follow-up were included. Complications, repeat surgeries, and return to sport rates were collected.

The design and implementation of successful rotational flaps of the scalp remains a complex process. There are several described techniques, all of which are based on a two-dimension surface, absent consideration of the convexity, and thereby three-dimensional nature of the scalp. This has contributed to flaps that are either too small or unnecessarily large in a bid to compensate.

In the United States, exclusionary public policies generate inequalities within and across labor, financial, and legal status hierarchies, which together undermine immigrant well-being. But can inclusive public policies improve immigrant health? We examine whether and how an immigrant-inclusive federal program, Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), shaped health care access and use among farmworkers over nearly three decades, paying particular attention to disparities at the intersection of nativity and legal status. Linking historical administrative data on the location and funding of FQHCs with the National Agricultural Workers Survey from 1989-2017, we first document trends in farmworkers' county-level proximity to FQHCs and identify a steady increase in FQHC access among undocumented farmworkers following the Affordable Care Act.

Farming practices such as soil tillage, organic/mineral fertilization, irrigation, crop selection and residues management influence multiple ecosystem services provided by agricultural systems. These practices exhibit complex, non-linear interrelationships that affect crop productivity, water quality, and non-carbon dioxide greenhouse gases (GHG) emissions, possibly offsetting their benefits regarding soil organic carbon (SOC) sequestration. Current methodologies from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) for assessing the impacts of alternative farming practices on GHG emissions rely on global or country-specific coefficients.

The objectives of this case series study were to test whether an elastic back exosuit could increase a wearer's endurance when lifting heavy objects and to assess whether lifting more cancels out the exosuit's risk reduction benefits. We found that 88% of participants increased their lifting repetitions while wearing an exosuit, with endurance increases ranging from 28 to 75%. We then used these empirical data with an ergonomic assessment model based on fatigue failure principles to estimate the effects on cumulative back damage (an indicator of low back disorder risk) when an exosuit is worn and more lifts are performed.
