The mechanisms of bacterial substances (protein A, peptidoglican Staphylococcus aureus), bacterium toxins (St. aureus, Corynebacterium diphtheriae, Shigella dysenteriae, Clostridium botulinum, Clostridium tetani, Vibrio choleral), transfer factor of immune reactivity to Staphylococcus aureus upon the key link (acetylcholine-, ATP-, inositol-1,4,5-triphosphate-, ryanodin-sensitive receptors, G-proteins, Ca2+, K(+)-transporting systems, second messengers) in the chain of signal conduction of excitatory and inhibitory agonists in excitable cells were examined. The action of these immune-active substances upon contractile proteins ATP-ase activity and protein synthesis was also discussed.

A method using high-performance liquid chromatography coupled with fluorescence detection (HPLC-FLD) was developed and validated to quantify the innovative tool LightSpot®-FL-1, a selective permeability-glycoprotein (P-gp)-targeted fluorescent conjugate used to measure P-gp expression in cell samples. Quantifying P-gp is a major challenge in oncology as its overexpression in many cancer cells results in Multidrug Resistance (MDR) associated with chemotherapy failure. To develop the method reported herein, both sample preparation and analysis parameters were investigated.

: Despite the availability of antiepileptic drugs (AEDs) that can manage seizures, they often come with cognitive side effects. Furthermore, the role of oxidative stress and neuroinflammatory responses in epilepsy and the limitations of current AEDs necessitate exploring alternative therapeutic options. Medicinal plants, e.

This paper focuses on the theoretical and analytical modeling of a novel seismic isolator termed the Passive Friction Mechanical Metamaterial Seismic Isolator (PFSMBI) system, which is designed for seismic hazard mitigation in multi-story buildings. The PFSMBI system consists of a lattice structure composed of a series of identical small cells interconnected by layers made of viscoelastic materials. The main function of the lattice is to shift the fundamental natural frequency of the building away from the dominant frequency of earthquake excitations by creating low-frequency bandgaps (FBGs) below 20 Hz.

Sertraline, a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI), is commonly used to treat various psychiatric disorders such as depression and anxiety due to its ability to increase serotonin availability in the brain. Recent findings suggest that sertraline may also influence the expression of genes related to synaptic plasticity and neuronal signaling pathways. Alternative splicing, a process that allows a single gene to produce multiple protein isoforms, plays a crucial role in the regulation of neuronal functions and plasticity.
