The amount of data produced by spectral imaging techniques, such as mass spectrometry imaging, is rapidly increasing as technology and instrumentation advances. This, combined with an increasingly multimodal approach to analytical science, presents a significant challenge in the handling of large data from multiple sources. Here, we present software that can be used through the entire analysis workflow, from raw data through preprocessing (including a wide range of methods for smoothing, baseline correction, normalization, and image generation) to multivariate analysis (for example, memory efficient principal component analysis (PCA), non-negative matrix factorization (NMF), maximum autocorrelation factor (MAF), and probabilistic latent semantic analysis (PLSA)), for data sets acquired from single experiments to large multi-instrument, multimodality, and multicenter studies.

We validated three single-item measures for emotional exhaustion (EE) and depersonalization (DP) among rural physician/nonphysician practitioners. We linked cross-sectional survey data (on provider demographics, satisfaction, resilience, and burnout) with administrative information from an integrated health care network (1 academic medical center, 6 community hospitals, 31 clinics, and 19 school-based health centers) in an eight-county underserved area of upstate New York. In total, 308 physicians and advanced-practice clinicians completed a self-administered, multi-instrument questionnaire (65.

Background: Clinical reasoning plays a major role in the ability of doctors to make a diagnosis and reach treatment decisions. This paper describes the use of four clinical reasoning tests in the second National Medical Science Olympiad in Iran: key features (KF), script concordance (SCT), clinical reasoning problems (CRP) and comprehensive integrative puzzles (CIP). The purpose of the study was to design a multi instrument for multiple roles approach in clinical reasoning field based on the theoretical framework, KF was used to measure data gathering, CRP was used to measure hypothesis formation, SCT and CIP were used to measure hypothesis evaluation and investigating the combined use of these tests in the Olympiad.

International nosological research was conducted to determine cross-system agreement on alcohol and drug dependence and harmful use (abuse). ICD-10, DSM-IV and DSM-III-R diagnoses were compared in 1,811 subjects from a variety of treatment and other types of settings from 12 sites around the world. Three diagnostic instruments were used: the Alcohol Use Disorders and Associated Disabilities Interview Schedule-Alcohol/Drug-Revised (AUDADIS-ADR), the composite international diagnostic interview (CIDI), and the schedules for clinical assessment in neuropsychiatry (SCAN).
