Objectives: To assess the validity of light-induced and laser-induced fluorescence devices compared to the visual-tactile method for detecting secondary caries around resin composite restorations.
Materials And Methods: The study included 20 participants with 30 resin-composite restored teeth. Restorations' margins were examined using three diagnostic methods: the visual-tactile method (FDI criteria), the light-induced fluorescence camera (VistaCam iX), and the laser-induced fluorescence device (DIAGNOdent pen), and the reference was visual inspection after removal of defective restorations.

Background: This study aimed to evaluate the accuracy of laser fluorescence (LF) readings in detection of caries removal by various techniques (CRTs).
Methods: A hundred and eighty extracted human molar teeth included in the study which were scored 3, 4, and 5 according to ICDAS. Each score group was randomly assigned to 4 subgroups according to CRT including ceramic bur (Group A), carbide bur (Group B), carbide bur with alumina abrasion (Group C), and carbide bur with bioactive glass (BAG) abrasion (Group D) (n = 15 for each group).

Introduction: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of fluoride-containing remineralization agents on enamel white spot lesions.
Methods And Materials: Twenty bovine incisors were cut mesio-distally and occluso-gingivally, creating 80 specimens, and divided into four groups (n=20/group): 1) control (no treatment); 2) fluoride varnish (Voco Profluoroid 5% NaF Varnish, VOCO Dental, Cuxhaven, Germany); 3) CPP-ACFP (MI Paste Plus with Recaldent, GC Corporation, Tokyo, Japan),; 4) self-assembling peptide (P11-4F, CURODONT Repair Fluoride Plus, Credentis AG, Windisch, Switzerland). After a three-week demineralization-remineralization cycle, white spot lesions were observed on the specimens.

Anti-cariogenic properties of silver nanoparticles and fluorides have been probed mainly in vitro and with the objetive to evaluate the remineralizing effects of an applied silver nanoparticle compound plus fluoride varnish, a randomized split-mouth clinical trial was conducted in children aged 6 to 7 years. : The project was approved by the ethics committee of the faculty. Primary molars were randomly distributed into two groups, as follows: Group A was treated with a compound based on silver nanoparticles plus fluoride varnish (SNP-FV), and Group B was treated with a silver diamine fluoride compound (SDF-KI), which is the current standard treatment.
